Does anyone else think that this might be an old trailor. From when they said the CE would come with a Prothean character on day 1 and then removed it saying there would be no DLC character on day 1.
I'm pretty sure that was them trying to misdirect us after accidently spilling the beans on the Prothean character.
But I'm not sure, because you'd think a prothean character would be integral to the ME3 plot, not a DLC. Regardless, Protheans have always played a big role in ME, so it's no surprise they are back in ME3, but it'd be interesting to see how they come back into play in ME3.
You'd think that "Arrival", "Lair of the Shadow Broker", and most of the other ME2 DLCs would be integral to the plot, but they weren't either.
I'm going to go ahead and assume you're being sarcastic.
All I'm saying is that the Protheans are a big deal in this ME trilogy. They were one of the very first races mentioned in ME1, and their mystery is interwoven with the galactic past and a major reason why the current species in ME still exist.
So dropping in a squad mate or whatever from a thought-to-be-extinct race is a big deal, and considering the above points I've mentioned, I'd think that would make the character included in the main ME game for everyone to experience since Protheans are so integral to ME.
As for ME2 DLC:
1) Kasumi and Zaeed, not that important
2) Overlord, not integral to main ME plot
3) LotSB, also not integral to main ME plot... Shadow Broker played a small role in ME1, not as big as Protheans... his story in no way has majorly affected the main ME plot
4) Arrival... at the end of ME2 we saw the Reapers coming to the Galaxy, we (the players) knew they were arriving... at the end of Arrival, Shepard finally knew they had arrived.... not a big difference... in fact, this might have been better suited as a one shot comic rather than a $ DLC
I think that lets you know why I think anything related to the Protheans should be in the main game, not DLC
edit: assuming the DLC is actually Prothean related, which it may very well not be

doesn't mean dlc can be important
example shale was important in dwarf and mages part of game
Sebastian Vael was important in chantry part of game
wonder is there picture of this bonus character?

Music is ME3 music. EA digital version will have the in-game goodies and electronic versions of the other content (but no patch).

LotSB SHOULD be a HUGE thing in ME3. Think of all the Shadow Broker's done in the ME series. Heck, in the first one, he directed Sheppard to Tali, and played a major role in stopping Sarren. Now you've got your own personal Shadow Broker who knows everything about everything. That should play a pretty massive role in ME3.
Overload COULD have played a major role, had it not been for the virus we used in Legion's mission, and if the player made the Renegade choice at the end of it.
I pretty much agree on the rest of it though. Keep in mind though, that the Geth have been a major deal for a while and they dropped one into your team. Heck, you even get the option of greeting Tali and the Migrant Fleet with it (priceless btw, you should do it at least once, if you haven't already).

If it's one of those "free with every new copy" deals, then the character can still be rather significant.
From what I hear, he can't be DLC even if he's free like Zaeed without radically changing ME3 main plot.

To para-phrase Donnelly from ME2 "We're gonna kick them Reapers right in the daddy bags!"

I know I'll probably get bombarded with nukes for saying this, and no shelter or magic fridge will save me, but here goes anyway:
It. Was. An. Early. Draft.
THIS, is not.

Bah! Stupid youtube douchebags. I should've turned off reactions from the get go (which are now)..... Came across some huge spoilers while reading the comments....
Sorry to hear that... perhaps it's best to stay away from all things Mass Effect until the game comes out from this point on here (except for a select few spoiler-free threads) and especially youtube

THIS, is not. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/uncertain.png[/smilie] You guys are better off basing the significance of given character from this video than the leaked stuff.
True, but everything this video showcased is essentially the same as what has been on the ME website for the past few months, including a DLC character and mission, which at one point suggested that would be a Prothean character.... so putting those things together, it's a reasonable assumption...
I do hope I'm wrong though... I'd rather any Prothean related things be non-dlc and in the main game, and would like this extra character and mission to be where we find out that Blasto from the movies is actually based on a real Hanar Spectre named Blasto, and then it becomes our squad mate... or one of those other races in the ME universe we've never seen and are rarely mentioned

Early drafts are exactly that. Laid out brianstorming-esque charts which are then polished and cut down.

I know, right? I managed to get a preorder at Gamestop for the ME2 CE in October/November, a few months before release.EternalAmbiguity wrote...
lol @ "limited supplies."
I bet that most people are holding off to see what the pre-order incentives are.

A) Don't have any, orAt least make them available for purchase a month or so later for a few points.
If I remember rightly a good few of them were in the B camp and those that weren't were not that much longer in waiting. I doubt they would make it so they aren't available at some point or other.
