I have the deluxe edition of Origins downloaded from "Origin" Awakening is also on Origin. I have called the tech support of EA - Origin and they... believe it or not... could not help me as they have no clue what's wrong.

Here's the issue. Other campaigns is greyed out. Before you go posting that thread explaining to copy and paste something from manifest.xml to addins I've done that already and yes I did make sure it is in the exact place it is suppose to be in. The only thing that supposite fix does for me is break all my DLC. (IE new characters don't have the tome and I can't load any of my existing games because it says I don't have the DLC needed).

I've uninstalled completely (searched my computer for any stray files and everything) multiple times with no results. I am running windows 7 fyi.

I use to have both of these on my computer many months ago.. near when Awakening first came out. Everything worked just fine then with no problems. I beat the game and uninstalled it. Now I am trying to play it again and having this ridiculously stupid problem which aparently a lot of people have had or are having and EA has decided it doesn't give a flying **** and doesn't address it. Any idea would be great! Thanks much.

Personally I would start with making sure the game is fully updated to 1.04 then I would apply the beta patch to see if it fixes the issue.

As far as the >xml edit, that "fix" causes more issues than it fixes and EA stupidly still tells people to use it. I would also go and make sure the daupdater is running, which should be explained fully in the sticky at the top about fixes.

If these two things don't your issue, come back and update your post. But please give some time, because as I am sure you noticed, these forums aren't really busy.

Okay doing a 5th or reinstall right now to fix another stupid (not sure why I tried again) retry on the xml edit. I'll update this post sometime tomorrow to let you know if any of your suggestions gave me progress or problems etc. Thanks

Hmm just got home from work and reread your post. What is daupdater? I can't find it anywhere. Nor can I find the post you are refering to.

There are a couple of stickies dealing with DLC issues. What else have you tried from those?

I updated to 1.04 before redownloading Awakening and it still didn't work. I found a post saying the installation order needs to be origins (don't run) then download awakening (don't run) then install the patch... But honestly they need to fix dumb bugs like this. There is no reason I shouldn't be able to just install and go on a game that's been out for nearly a year.... For my 17th reinstallation I'll be trying that install order.

This is the issue I think I'm having. I think Awakening just simply isn't installing. When I download Origins from the Origin downloader I then have to install the game before I can play it. When I download Awakening from the Origin downloader however, it just goes directly to me being able to hit play. Is it suppose to do this? No one, including the Origin tech support has given me a solid answer on this. I have tried looking through my computer after downloading Awakening and have not found any files with anything like "awakening" "awake" "DAA" etc etc attached to the names I've also looked all over for a folder with awakening in the title so I can find the installer... nothing. Does it just integrate into DAO when I download it automatically or is this the actual issue... if so... why has it bugged in this manner every time I've redownloaded it?

Yup this time after I installed origins and downloaded awakening I was able to find a DragonAgeAwakeningInstaller and ran it normally and as an admin. Both times I instantly get an installation failed message.

same thing here (at least as far as Origin is concerned, the whole origin works but not awakening) so I went to steam which installed Awakening flawlessly, however, I did notice that it activated some XML program before launching DAO. Have you tried launching DA:O through the DA:OA icon in Origin and see if that triggers something? That was how steam did it. I had to run it through the Awakening shortcut once for Awakening to be seen, then after that it just uses the DA:O exe.
