The ones I know of are:
Tempest
Chain Lightning
Hemorrhage/Wounds of the Past
One Foot In (upgraded Grave Robber, blood mage talent)
Glyph of Paralysis
Fatiguing Fog
That's 1 talent and 5 spells. Am I missing any? (...probably)
List of multi-target/AOE spells & talents that do NOT cause friendly fire

That sounds about right. Not sure what the deal is with glyphs of repulsion (I don't use them, but I wouldn't think it would be triggered by companions) but besides that nothing springs to mind.
In terms of destealthing assassins/rage demons most the force mage talents and mindblast do not cause friendly fire damage (which makes them somewhat ideal, even if it does involves knocking companions over)
With the right party setup/adequate warding runes almost any aoe talent can be used without causing too much/any ff issues. So focusing solely on non-ff abilities isn't necessary if that's what you were looking into..
haha and no problems with the answering questions.

Fatiguing Fog does friendly fire when you upgrade it to Overpowering Fog. I've had the Disorient status appear on Hawke a few times with my last DW rogue.

Are you sure it was fatiguing fog and not confusion?
Because it would be a little silly if it obscures (+50% defence) and disorients (-50% defence) at the same time haha

I never pick Confusion for any characters it's too bigger nuisance. I was running the fogs for Varric so Anders could exploit the Disorients with Walking Bomb. Quickly abandoned due to reload rage. The Disorient symbol was there but I didn't check if the stats were actually affected.
The way this game is would you be that surprised if the Obscure and Disorient affects cancelled each other out?

Haha I suppose not. But I hadn't noticed anything like that before - it only ever happened when I got hit by a confusion (temporary disorient + loss of control).

Thanks again!
I just wanted to double-check which spells I could use without worry, because I didn't know until recently that hemmorhage and tempest were non-FF. I wouldn't put any of these spells in my top 3 though (those would be gravitic ring, firestorm, and probably haste).
Are you sure you were seeing disorient pop up as a status effect on hawke and not just obscure? I'm guessing obscure has its own icon, but not 100% sure. I've read elsewhere that fatiguing fog doesn't do FF/disorient your party...could be wrong though.

fair enough
obscure is a swirly grey fog - quite different from disorient/brittle/stagger etc
and yeah, fatiguing fog isn't supposed to do ff and i don't think it usually does. perhaps it was a once off or something.
