Conflicts You Would Have Liked to Have Seen

Sorry if this was posted somewhere else (I looked, I swear), but I just wanted to get this off my chest.

I think there should have been a pairing of conflicts with EVERYONE on board.

The characters rarely ever interact with each other, and only Kasumi really seems to say anything about the other characters. It's like no one ever sees each other on the ship. Yes, they are all found in separate areas, but realistically, I wouldn't expect Jacob to eat, sleep, and breathe in the Armory on the ship. They'd all probably share separate male and female quarters or whatnot.

They could've paired EVERYONE up like this:

Miranda vs Jack - (canon, needs no explanation)
Tali vs Legion - (again, canon)

There was an unused Grunt vs Mordin dialogue:

but I see the sense in eliminating it from the game, as Grunt doesn't seem to really care much about "old hatreds" as Okeer had imprinted in him.

What I would've liked to have seen was:

Jacob vs Thane - Jacob greeted Thane with obvious hostility against a "merc" (and some of us who don't have Zaeed wouldn't need to worry about a Jacob/Zaeed conflict), and both have a father/son theme going. Jacob could be arguing from the son's perspective of needing a father to be there and Thane could be arguing about doing his job so that the son would never have to deal with certain burdens.

The next few pairings would be based on if DLCs were added or not.

Ideally,it would be Garrus vs Zaeed and Samara/Morinth vs Kasumi, but I guess a Garrus vs Samara/Morinth might be possible, albeit a little far-fetched.

Garrus vs Zaeed - Mercenary killer vs the most feared mercenary in the galaxy. Maybe more of a competitive conflict or a "watch your back" sort of scenario. Depending on Garrus's morality choice in ME, it could be a justice against mercs or a competition of badass against mercs. Maybe.

Samara vs Kasumi - By definition, Kasumi's specialty is breaking the law. Samara would be all preachy
about delivering justice to Kasumi, even though Kasumi has done things like freeing the child art prodigy. See Samara's, "-do I really need to know that he is also a dedicated father?" line.

or Morinth vs Kasumi - Kasumi can see through people and notices that there's something different about "Samara" when Morinth is recruited. Maybe Morinth doesn't like that and tries to attack Kasumi, but Kasumi threatens to expose Morinth for what she is.

I just think conflicts should have come up A LOT more. It's too much of an, "Oh? You need help against the Collectors, so I'll just hop on the merry wagon and come along." Most of the characters should have been at each other's throats and distrustful of each other:

"Deadly Drell assassin? Sure, we'll trust him. 'Cuz he's religious."
"Merciless Justicar whom kills anyone that she deems unjust? Nah, none of us on
the Normandy have ever been involved in any unjust actions."
"Galaxy's best thief? She won't steal anything - we're a big happy family."

It's not like it matters, but I like the speculation.

Yes, the crew in ME2 is very...compartmentalized.
