You do realise the thank you bioware thread is not about DA2.Titanominus wrote...
For keeping the "R" in RPG for Skyrim... Unlike what BioWare did with DA2.

Yeah...
I wonder if when the OP gets a gift from someone he/she thanks the neighboors of the people who gave him/her the gift, instead of the actual person who gave the gift.

This is completely unrelated to that thread. Yes this is a rant regarding DA2.

DA2 wasn't a "gift", I lost $60 hard-earned dollars on that turd.

The other is not clear at the moment if they even like making games, let alone RPGs.

It didn't take the R out of it either.Lukertin wrote...
Yea removing stats from the game really kept the 'R' in 'RPG'.

I laugh whenever someone says this.
Cause stats allow you to roleplay.

One makes hiking simulators with **** writing (story, characters, dialog), horrible UI, innumerable glitches and bugs. Godawful and dull combat in all their games. Overrated and overhyped.
What an interesting interpretation for exploring, compelling quests and fun combat.
Something tells me you flat out skipped Skyrim just because Oblivion looked at you funny.

Skyrim had Roleplaying? Oh! I didn't know! I must have missed it (I've played Skyrim for 40+ hours now).
Where does Skyrim actually offer roleplaying experiences? Because I haven't had any roleplaying experiences during my 40+ hours playthrough, next to the typical stats & perks assigning (which isn't really roleplaying imo).
Roleplaying is being forced into a role that you as the player act out. For example: When you play Mass Effect, you are Commander Shepard, a certain person. But who is Commander Shepard really and what does he think? That's for you to decide and that's roleplaying. Mass Effect gives you a couple of tools to act as Commander Shepard (with the dialogue wheel and stuff) and the world of Mass Effect actually gives feedback to who you as Commander Shepard are and how you act.
Dragon Age 2 does the same as Mass Effect, but less succesful.
Skyrim doesn't do this at all. Your character is an empty slate. You don't really get to roleplay an actual character in Skyrim. Your character in Skyrim is merely your avatar. You as the player are a tourist in the world of Skyrim and your avatar is your vessel that allows you to travel through this amazing world. But that's not roleplaying, not really.
As the player, I feel a little disconnected to my character and the world of Skyrim. That's because I don't really get to play a specific character. The game doesn't give me the tools to roleplay my character, If I want to roleplay my character, I have to do it in my head. But then I'm roleplaying in my imagination, not in Skyrim.

You know, not to actually lend a thread like this any credibility, but Skyrim actually has less RPG staples than Dragon Age 2. Barely any stats, EVERYTHING gives you EXP to the point where no skill matters, no classes.
I love Skyrim. But come on.
