Doesn't need to be viable for nightmare, hard is enough. Thinking DW rogue hawke Avaline, Fenris and Varric. Is it duable?
Any suggestions for a mageless pro Templar party?

If you're going "Pro-Templar," I'd say go with Sebastian over Varric. If you have the DLC that is.

I've done it on Nightmare, with a sword-and-board Hawke, Isabela, Sebastian and Varric. I think your set-up should be perfectly viable on Hard. You might also consider swapping either Aveline or Fenris for Sebastian if you have the DLC. (Ranged DPS is your friend when you don't have mages.)
