Samara is not a zealot. Some folks need to look up the definition of that word.

Yes she is.

Zealot - a person who shows zeal.

Zeal - fervor for a person, cause, or object ( her code ); eager desire or endeavor; enthusiastic diligence; ardor.

Sounds exactly like Samara to me.

Just because she'll wipe out villages of unjust brainwashed persons, or blow up a police station trying to detain her to prevent a diplomatic incident if she murders a corrupt alien, or hunt government-sponsored agents charged with protecting galactic peace if they don't follow her rules, doesn't mean she's fanatical or uncompromising!

Samara is in my opinion not unlike the samurai, or perhaps a ronin who still lives by the samurai code. She's a very interesting character. Yeah they did her a disservice by her outfit. Nothing about Samara's personality suggests sexual inclinations. Even worse that BioWare included dialog enough for Shepard to completely make a horny ass outta him/herself trying to seduce her.

As for Liara, I really liked her in ME1. In ME2 it was like...I mean I can understand she's changed but she seemed like a different character all together. She seemed to miss the forest for the trees. All that trouble to save Shepard and in the end she's only mildly interested that he's alive and walking around again. Instead of her passion for understanding the Protheans, or her passion for Sheppard, she's obsessed with the Shadow Broker. She's rather indifferent to everything and everyone else, yet the motivation doesn't seem justified.

Curious to see how she fairs in ME3 but at the very least I will always remember her for the controversy she caused on Fox news.

Yeah... who here remembers the last major implementation of Bushido as a organizational principle? Besides the Chinese, Koreans, Philippines, Indonesians, and prisoners of war of various nations?

I'm amazed every time people cite 'the samurai code' or 'knightly honor' as if it were a grand, noble thing.

Haha, I agree 100%.

Shepard: You risked your life, just to make me return?
Liara: Yes, the Shadow Broker...
Shepard: And now... you ignore me?
Liara: The Shadow Broker, Nixerys, the SHADOW BROKER!
*Nixerys rolls eyes*
Shepard: Yeah... Benezia should have been stricter with you.

It wasn't, but Imperial Japan just made **** up and called it something impressive and old. Kind of like Germany, come to think of it.

They are noble paths (at least the seven virtues), you cannot make examples of it with deformations of the code itself.

I do understand the concept of Samara's armor being designed to look like the idealization of Asari standards of beauty and she didn't choose that uniform.. I just wish "said" standards didn't so very closely resemble human ones.

Well, they already look almost exactly like humans. So there's that. Also no exposed midrift. So there's that.

I agree here. You'd think that as a pansexual species asari don't even get sexually aroused by ones appearence. So why show of their bodies in the first place? Or why cover nudity at all?

Because there are functional reasons for clothes that go beyond "modesty".

Hey look, the thread about Samara has devolved into an argument about her boobs. As if a woman exposing her boobs completely destroys her "credibility" or worth or something. How very 19th Century. And asari aren't even women (i.e., female humans), they're ASARI. Guess what boys? We women aren't flummoxed by our own breasts, and I imagine that a species that has sex by joining nervous systems rather than genitals would place even less significance on physical attributes like breasts. It's a "mind-meld", after all.

I more meant in general. When it's hot for example etc.

And the first question still stands.

She's a much more fleshed and well rounded character than Tali was in ME1. (aka the Quarian encylopedia)

OK, so tell us, why does this character from such a species, who has centuries of experience and some of the most intense training conceivable... walk around in 4-inch heals and a pimped-out catsuit, and with those unflummoxing breasts exposed to flaunt them just the way many human males find interesting?

Exactly! Why show it of then? Why have sexy clothes if you don't even think their sexy? Those are uncomfortable surely. How many women would wear heels if men didn't care and though that they looked the same as snickers?

At any rate she's dedicated herself to justice and the dispensing of it. She's sacrificed other elements of normal Asari life to dedicate herself to this cause. Not unlike the Specters except that the Specters follow the council's wishes and Justicars operate out of their own sense of injustice. She's a character I can respect. Would love to have some DLC that plays out her encounter with Nihilus.

And the funny thing is, if I stop and actually look, that getup isn't even sexy, really.

Indeed, she's an interesting character in her own right.

...ok? lol. Whats your point? This isnt ME1. Even if it was, I would disagree with you there. ME2 is character based and Samara has no character.

She got them long before any human men were around?

Strange, then, that Samara wears an outfit designed specifically to show them off, don't you think?
