Well, there is one thing... Aethyta says that she prefers asses. So asari do seem to possess some sort of physical attraction to others, likely other asari moreso than most other species, which I can't imagine makes the "pureblood" thing any easier.Siansonea II wrote...
Hey look, the thread about Samara has devolved into an argument about her boobs. As if a woman exposing her boobs completely destroys her "credibility" or worth or something. How very 19th Century. And asari aren't even women (i.e., female humans), they're ASARI. Guess what boys? We women aren't flummoxed by our own breasts, and I imagine that a species that has sex by joining nervous systems rather than genitals would place even less significance on physical attributes like breasts. It's a "mind-meld", after all.

OK, so tell us, why does this character from such a species, who has centuries of experience and some of the most intense training conceivable... walk around in 4-inch heals and a pimped-out catsuit, and with those unflummoxing breasts exposed to flaunt them just the way many human males find interesting?
That's... kinda my point. If appeance shouldn't be as big a deal to Asari, and Samara is an ancient all-business warrior who has never hung around human men before now... what's with that rediculous getup that's clearly designed to flaunt her appearance?

Exactly! Why show it of then? Why have sexy clothes if you don't even think their sexy? Those are uncomfortable surely. How many women would wear heels if men didn't care and though that they looked the same as snickers?
Yes the all wise Jreezy knows the point. I didn't miss her point, I showed how the post she posted doesn't advocate her point but instead advocates what I posted.

It destroys the image of a seasoned warrior when they leave their heart and lungs (those vital organs located just underneath the soft tissue of said boobs) completely unprotected. Yes various cultures have gone to war bare chested but that was before the invention of fire arms. Accurate, long range, armor piercing fire arms. It's not about her exposing her body, keep in mind Jack wears considerably less, it's about the practicallity of her outfit with regards to her life style. Asari tactics favour speed and flexibility in combat so form fitting armor makes sense, heels and an exposed chest however, do not.

If demanding women to cover up their breasts is sexist, then what's leaving them exposed for no particular reason?
Bold It's also quite the coincidence that all of the alien species except turian that are romancable closely resemble humans. I never got into star trek, but one of the reasons I found it so silly was that all of the "aliens" look like humans with goofy hairpieces.

I think breast-related imagery is far more prevalent and multipurpose in asari culture than it is in human culture. The exact function here I'm not certain of, but justicars aren't really a practical order so much as a highly symbolic one, so some impractical frills to create symbolic value wouldn't be out of place.Killjoy Cutter wrote...

You may not like it, and you're welcome to your opinion, but in the MEverse, if it's not ****** sapiens, and it didn't evolve on Earth, then it's an alien. End of story. Preconceived notions of authors' intentions be damned.

Edited to add:
As for the non-bold parts, I do get what you're saying, but really... it's such BS, I just can't stomach it. I mean look around! People are actually trying to rationalise Samara's outfit with speculative xenobiology and seemingly serious stabs at what an alien culture comprised entirely of lesbian wizards would think about exposed breasts. I really can't help but facedesk at this sort of crap.
