I have recently found that certain visual effects can cause problems when converted to placed effects. The problem is not in baking, but it may be worth a look. Have you made any custom placed effect blueprints?

Morbane said: "Clyordes said - incorrectly - that if you save in directory mode you have to convert to .mod to play test - that is NOT true -" Oops - sorry - I tried it once & the module seemed to hang while it was loading, so I gave it up as a bad job without waiting to see if it ever got the adventure loaded up. Must be my slightly elderly system.
Either way, I've had many, many toolset crashes working in .module format & virtually none in .DIR format. It seems worse with big, busy, outdoor areas, usually after working in the same area for an extended period - maybe that's the memory leak effect?
I'm by no means a techie, so have little idea what a memory leak is or how to prevent it hurting things, although saving the module & exiting the toolset every couple of hours seems to do the trick.

You can try to "verify module" It is an option in the main dropdown menu, near the bottom of the list. That will fond any culprit files or even scripts or placeables that have a problen in the tool set for whatever reason.
