As far as I'm concerned Revan was dead to me when he became male in canon. I lost all interest in the character outside KotOR replays then. That the Exile was fridged to give him further pathos slammed the final nail in his coffin. His appearance in SWtOR is probably Forced fanservice. Dude should've been dead hundreds of years ago after all.

Yeah, after reading some of the supposed spoilers from the Revan novel, it sounded terrible what they canonized with Revan and the Exile and shoving him into TOR is just stupid pandering.

Hijacking old PCs for the sake of a stupid boss battle is just stupid.

For me, its not that they brought him back that upsets me. I actually think it could be pretty interesting. What upsets me is that they went through so much trouble trying to get him in the game then just killing him as soon as we meet him.

This <_< I really, really didn't want to see LucasArts milking the franchise for every cent by making it into a MMO. This just puts the final nail in the coffin.

And here I thought Karpyshyn only killed off his own introduced-by-novel characters in arbitrary and pointless ways. I suppose it's good that he's branching out.

I suppose I'll have to read it for myself. What he's apparently done with the Exile - someone who I found infinitely more interesting than Revan, I might add - honestly infuriates me, both in terms of ultimate fate and how everything distinct about him/her appears to have jettisoned. S/he just sounds like Yet Another Incompetent Jedi now. Needing Revan to rescue her? Hahaha.

[edit] Also? It sounds as if he's retconned Kreia out of existence. If he has, my fury will know no bounds. She was my favourite antagonist out of everything and anything ever. Ever. Revan and Malak were pantomine villans tying damsels to railroad tracks and twiddling their moustaches by comparison.

like i needed another reason not to play TOR, not like i was gonna do it anyway, Payed MMOs can burn in hell for all i care.

EDIT: this comment sums it up:

Revan in a mid-level instance? If you wanted to kill him off early to
make room for the rest of TOR's story, then don't bring him back in the
first place. Say he died of old age 250 years ago or something."

or at least, if you're gonna make the players kill him, make him a powerful ass honorable boss or something.

Its most likely a fake Revan honestly this is something the public should not see and is a huge spoilier for something in game.

Y'know, a more suspicious, cynical type of person than I might have to wonder at whether the ease with which KotOR2's entire plot has been torn asunder might've been, shall we say, facilitated by it not being a product of Bioware. I notice KotOR1's (far, far less interesting) back story has been largely untouched.

But you'd have to be a pretty unpleasant person to think that, eh?

meh i looked up more about revan and the exile. they retconned a lot of stuff about the exile and gave her a crappy death. *shakes head*
