Eh, I've not much cared about the Exile ever since they made her canonically female.

As for Revan still being alive, as a former WoW player, I'm used to MMOs slaughtering lore for the sake of a boss encounter. It's just something you shrug your shoulders at and move on.

I don't mind the established Canon in terms of Revan and the Exile at all...but the time jump from the games events, the yet more "Lets let 2nd hand writers **** up the canon" is pissing me off. Writers like Drew and Dennings need to go. And someone or the board of LFL, LA, other lucas brands needs to stand up and go "No George, thats stupid. Now go home, and stay. We will send you your checks."


I was wanting to buy that book...but between that, the recent time traveling BS, its turning into Star Trek. Ah well least I did get a good book from Zahn not too long ago.

Does it play out the same even if you play Republic? Would seem kind of odd if Revan ended up as a cheap boss fight  no matter what.

She's dead.

I finished reading the "Revan" SWTOR Book. Major spoilers incoming on the new REVAN book but here's what happens in the book that is of importance:

1) The Dark Council secretly want to overthrow and kill the Emperor as the Emperor is over 1000 years old. He did this by performing an old sith ritual in which he consumed his entire planet, along with all the other sith lord he invitied to 'be part of this ritual'. He's got the power of 100,000's of people in his body and this allows him to live for such a long time. His homeplanet on which he did this ritual on is dead. Not dead as in Malachor V dead, but literally there is no trace of anything on it.

2) Revan has flashbacks of a 'planet with dark skies and thunder' i.e. Dromund Kaas, the main planet of the Sith Empire where the Emperor is.

3) Bastila tells Revan she's pregnant. T3M4 is still with them. Revan tells Bastila he has to go and find out about these visions. He meets up with Canderous whos getting lapdances from Twileks and drinking Booze. He agrees and they set out to find Mandalores Mask.

4) Lord Scourge is hired by one of the Dark Council members, Darth Nyriss, to find out who is trying to assassinate her. After landing on Dromund Kaas and stopping these mercs from killing him, he eventually learns Nyriss set it up to 'prove his worth'. Later it is revealed she set up this 'assasination plot' to distract the Emperor from finding out about the Dark Council plotting against him.

5) She tells Scourge that the Emperor will pretty much do to the entire galaxy what he did to his planet, consume and leave no trace of the force behind as his hunger for more will never be satisfied. Think of Darth Nihlus but without the "trace of death" lingering on, instead there is no force at all.

6) Revan and Canderous head to the planet where Revan believes he hid Mandalores Mask with Malak. They meet up with Clan Ordo and Canderous tells them Revans name is Avern... not very clever xD

7) Canderous meets his wife. They hump. Revan eventually goes with Clan Ordo and Canderous and they come across another Mandalorian Clan, they fight. Revan ignites his saber, hence giving away hes a jedi. Later Revan and Candymandy find this tomb of an Ancient Sith, in which the tomb itself holds the Mask. Candys wife goes bat**** crazy and says Candy betrayed teh law (in a nutshell), Canderous shoots his wife and saves Revan.

8) The tomb holds this sith holocon, revan has more flashbacks and realises it will take him to the Emperors homeworld. He tells Canderous to unite the Mandalorians. Revan heads off with T3M4.

9) In the meantime, Nyriss wants to show Scourge why the Emperor is so dangerous to everything (even the sith) and takes him to the homeworld of the Emperor. Iz all ded there and Scourge realises what must be done.

10) Revan and T3 arrive in the Ebon Hawk, Nyriss picks them up on her sensors and blasts them. The Ebon Hawk crashes on the planet, Revan is unconcience and T3 has to hide as the 2 sith land. They recognise him as Revan, they capture him and take him away on their ship, leaving the hidden T3 and the crashed Ebon Hawk.

THIS IS WHERE KOTOR 2 BEGINS. (Where T3M4 takes the busted Ebon Hawk towards the slow journey back into the galaxy, play kotor 2, im not gonna explain)

11) Revan is captured for 3 years. In the meantime, Bastila has a healthy boy and the Exile has defeated the Sith Triumvirate. The Exile says how she wants to find Revan who has been gone for the past 3 years in the Unknown Regions, Bastila is jealous of the Exiles connection with Revan, lolol. Bastila then gives the Exile 'Revans Mask' and says she was worried if she showed this to Revan that things could come back to him, and maybe some of the Dark Side could return to him. The Exile takes it and goes with T3M4 to find Revan.

12) Revan never tells his captors anything but Scourge always comes into the cell to ask more questions, and Revan tries to be clever and gives him information, but nothing big. Revan is always kept drugged to stop his full power being used. Revan tells Scourge about these 'dreams' that Jedi have, i.e. Visions and that the sith cannot have them as they look too inwardly about themselves. Scourge sez "u lie!" Revan plays his luck and hints that he wants Scourge to free him, Scourge says nope.avi and leaves. Revan =

13) The Exile heads towards the Emperors Homeworld (Nathema) with T3. She's like HNNNNNG I FEEL NOTHING and feels likes shes gonna die. Eventually T3 looks around and finds stuff that links the planet to Dromund Kaas, so they head off there.

14) After a while, the Exile sets up a meeting with this 'Pure Sith' (the dudes with the red skin and face beard tentacles) Lord that T3 had taken an image of. She meets up with Scourge, Scourge tells her how he cant let her meet up with Revan because:

- Nyriss wants Scourge to kill the Emperor.
- Scourge wants to learn more from Revan.
- Scourge also knows the danger of the Emperor and that he cannot be allowed to live.

The Exile (whos real name is Meetra Surik) and Scourge team up to find a way to free Revan.

15) Scourge gets incriminating files and evidence that Nyriss and the Dark Council want to kill the Emperor. He goes to the Emperor and tells him. The Guard of the Palace tell Scourge not to be anywhere near Nyriss or else he may... well, get caught in the crossfire.

16) Scourge heads to Nyriss' place and takes Meetra with him (who is disguised as a slave). Then boom! The place is under attack by the Emperors forces. They rush down to the dungeons to save Revan and unlock the cell. Meetra shows Revan his old 'Mandalorian Mask' (the signature facemask he wore during the Mandalorian Wars and Jedi Civil War) and he spazzes out and goes unconcience.

17) Nyriss pops up and does zappy time on everyone. Revan gets up and his face is LIKE A BOSS. He pulls a yoda and holds out his hands and absorbs the lightning and yeah in the end Nyriss dies. They escape.

18) In a hidden cave Revan and Meetra are meditating and Scourge attempts to see if Revans theory on "force visions" is true, and he gets a vision of all 3 of them dead by the Emperor. He freaks out but keeps quiet about it. Eventually they head to the Palace of the Emperor and Scourge states he wants to meet up with the Emperor. Guards be like "Nope." and he says "I will!" and they are like "sigh ok".

19) Doesn't go to plan. T3, Meeta, Revan and Scourge fight their way into the emperors quarters (Scourge stays back to fight the Emperors Guards) while the rest rush onwards.

20) Revan goes to fight the Emperor who is surprised (sorta) to see him. They duel but the dude blasts Revan and he goes flying like a ragdoll in Garrys Mod. T3 rushes and fires flames to stop the Emperor from killing Revan and the Emperor points his hand at T3 who blasts into 100000s of small metal pieces ((((((

21) Meeta rushes in to stop Revan being killed (he's getting deep fried by the emperors lightning) and Scourge runs in too. At that moment Scourge has a vision through the force, like... 1000's of them, of all the different outcomes that could happen, from Scourge killing the Emperor, to Revan winning etc but in that moment he sees a vision of the Emperor. Dead.

But not by the hand of Revan, Meeta or Scourge but... by the hand of a powerful Jedi. So Scourge does what he deems as the right choice.

22) He stabs Meeta right through the chest and the Exile dies. Revan is like o.o and he goes for the kill on Revan but Emperor is like Nope. Scourge lies to the Emperor and says this was part of his plan to uncover the traitors. The Emperor says how Revan may still be of use to him and that he will give Scourge the same power he has, the power of immortality. So later they do the ritual. Scourge then vows to himself that he will find a way to use his power to kill the Emperor before it is too late.

23) Revan is kept prisoner in this mind-trap where his body isnt alive or dead, so he's sorta in Limbo. The emperor has put him into a machine that will keep Revan alive but in the meantime the power from Revan is being used to sustain the Emperor.

24) Back on Coruscant, Bastila is now an old woman, her son isnt a jedi but her grandchildren are and she still can sense that Revan is somewhere, trying to communicate with her.

And that's about it. I just summed up about 300 words of hardcore Star Wars stuff and that sh*t aint easy to pull off. I missed a lot out but that's all the stuff you need to know.

- Well, he's disappeared, he was ofc found by Meetra and put together but after that he went looking for Revan.

- What about Mission/Zaalbar?
- Hah! They have formed up a respectable business together and are doing well.

- What about Juhani and Jolee?
- Well at the time of when Revan and Canderous met up to find the Mask, J/J were part of the Jedi.

- What about Carth Onasi?
- ..... He's not even mentioned in the book

- Wait so Revan is alive?
- Yes, technically he is.

- The Exile is dead?
- Yep. She ain't coming back.

- Did you read this all in one day?
- Yes. This "Revan" book is my replacement for Knights of the Old Republic 3, a game I shall never, ever for as long as i LIVE... ever get to play. Because instead I'm getting a goddamn MMO. <_<

- How did Revan fall to the Dark Side?
- Revan and Malak did not know what they were up against. They came across the Emperor who literally warped their minds into becoming his minions and sent them back as Vanguard. Hence the Jedi Civil War. But due to Revan and Malak turning to the Dark side, they sorta forgot about the Emperor and that was a way they were no longer under his control.

- So wait, Revan and Malak were puppets?
- Yes. But Malak died. And Revan slowly broke free. The fact that also his mind was re-written eliminated the mind control the emperor used to have on him.

- Mind control?
- Yes. Nyriss wanted to know how Revan managed to break free of the Emperors mind control, hence why he was kept prisoner for 3 years.

And after all of this, Revan is defeated by a group of force noobs in SWTOR.

1) Create one of the greatest Star Wars characters in the expanded universe ever.
2) Have him put through all these trials and killed off in <2 mins.

Oi vey. Thanks for the detailed summary, Merchant2006. That was enlightening in the way of brain cell destruction. I'm not happy at all with how the Exile croaked. She was too powerful to go out in such a meaningless fashion. Not that it's atypical treatment for female Star Wars EU characters.

It's great that I'm excellent at compartmentalization when it comes to games. Otherwise this novel and SWtOR would retroactively ruin the KotOR games for me.

Seriously, what was the point to all that? KOTOR stopped with the end of KOTOR2. Everything since then doesn't exist.

What was the point of Boba Fett in the prequel trilogy or Darth Maul in the Clone Wars? Its become par for the course with Star Wars, if anyone gets any sort of following or fanbase they will be shoved in somewhere they don't belong just for the hell of it. The scary part is theres people who think its actually really cool and fantastic.

They release all these Star Wars encyclopedia's at ridiculous prices which are rendered obsolete within a few months. Its got to the point where theres nothing in Star Wars thats safe from retconning or flat out being ignored from continuity.

Truthfully, I'm glad TOR went the way it did. With the current MMO, you get to experience stories you never would have been able to in a KOTOR 3 like with an Imperial Agent, Bounty Hunter, Sith, Smuggler, and trooper.
