Truthfully, I'm glad TOR went the way it did. With the current MMO, you get to experience stories you never would have been able to in a KOTOR 3 like with an Imperial Agent, Bounty Hunter, Sith, Smuggler, and trooper.

Sure, it is really fancy pancy being able to play as all these classes and other stuff, though they shouldn't have had anything to to with KOTOR imo.

Wait. Sith can't have visions? Aren't visions what Palpatine used to see possible futures and help him with his coup?

Lord Scourge is just your super-above-average Sith who uses his enemy's emotions to make his stronger in battle. Like... whats the power called... Force Drain? Force ravage? The power to leech off your enemy and make yourself stronger.

So he was learning stuff from Revan as he went in his cell and Revan would sorta poke fun at him, telling him how the Sith are too busy looking inwardly and selfish and always about themselves, rather than looking outwardly.

Palpatine had visions, but you have to realise that during this period you had 1000's of force sensitives on both sides, and not all of them... especially your 'usual powerful sith lord' knew about things like this.

Shhh! Stop exposing the EU's disregard for continuity! (Also, yes. At least he claimed as much.)

@Merchant2006
- It's pretty sad if they went through all that trouble just to kill
him off in seconds. In a way his fate is as bad as the Exile's.

Agreed

I'll try out the Beta. Want to see what all the fuss is about. After that, I'm not touching it. I never got my Kotor 3 and this MMO sure as hell isn't good enough. Good luck to BW, Lucasarts and the people playing it, they will get the most out of it I'm sure.

Does it play out the same even if you play Republic? Would seem kind of odd if Revan ended up as a cheap boss fight  no matter what.

When I played this flashpoint, it was Imperial only. I don't think there will be a republic version of this specific flashpoint, though I could be wrong.

Posted the republic side vid of Revan on page 3. I think the female ghost might be the Exile

^ I raged after reading the book. It was a shame what they did to the Exile but... Revan being alive was interesting.

Then I saw the video of how he gets obliterated ingame by some low levels. That is not cool. I raged more.

I've watched that video a few times now...I no longer think that he 'dies'.

I've never seen or heard, in any Star Wars media, of a jedi or sith dying by causing some kind of lightning explosion and vanishing in a flash of light.

Seems like they've set up Revan to be one of the most important characters in the game - unlikely they would give away his entire plot involvement and let you kill him in the Beta alone...

Hope that's the case anyway!

Watched the video in fullscreen, noticed that his health doesn't go completely down and then he bubble-hearths out. So it's possible for him to still be alive perhaps? though that sort of contradicts his end quote "...as the darkness takes me..."

Eh, I'm not sure how to react, bit annoyed/ sort of ok with it I guess. Bioware sort of shot themselves in the foot with that one, lets hope they have an explanation for it.

I'm more p*ssed with that voice they gave HK-47. What the hell did you do to my assassin droid Bioware >:(

I watch the boss fight and he disappeared in a ball of energy. I don't think he's dead..

As I have no quarrel with Revan being a male, I played and envisioned him as a male, I have with allmost everything else.
I thought of him as a force of anture, a tide or tsunami you cant stop. That is why he had to go, dissapear in mysterious way, to fight even greater menace...
And then they picture him as a chump that gets slaps for seconds.

Why do the creators cut the cupons off of a well established characters? They dont have any new ideas?

I've read the novel and don't have the same type of hatred for it many of you seem to, but I'll agree with the general thought that characters get reused too often. There aren't really any retcons to speak of that I noticed but the plots of KotOR and KotOR 2 are essentially glossed over. Drew would have done well to pay some homage to the previous games.

Well thats a great way to screw up to EU some more for the sake of selling some copies of an MMO.....god.

The EU wasnt screwed up before? I have pretty much scoured everything but Heir to the Empire from my brain.

Nah some of it was good and well placed, pretty much anything from Zahn and Allston for example. Its just when ever it can hit "Multimedia" such as toys, games, and books, it gets ****ed up. The Force unleashed and yes even Kotor are good examples of this.

My hope is that he survives a Republic playthrough and is a crucial part of defeating the Sith. And that in the Sith playthrough, he isn't really killed, but will resurface later. Keep in mind, at one point when writing Return of the Jedi the plan was for Obi-Wan to come back to life and genuinly be more powerful than when Vader killed him. So Revan resurfacing is possible.

I'm also ticked that they gave him that apperance. Couldn't it have been something better looking? Lord.

But if you do kill him as a mid level boss, I might never buy another Bioware product. That would kill my faith in the company.

That said, I never really liked KotOR 2's story.  It just felt wrong for Star Wars.  So I don't mind if some retconing happens there.

Create one of the greatest Star Wars characters in the expanded universe ever.

Revan is by no means the greatest Star Wars character in the expanded universe. Hell, he isn't even a character. The author himself said that the feats he accomplished in KOTOR are exaggerated. It would be nice if someone could give me one reason why he's "one of the greatest".

Seriously.

I don't know if I'd qualify him as one of the greatest perhaps (Wes Janson FTW!), but definatly one of the coolest and most loved due to his status as a PC.  Players invested a lot into Revan in the first game, and spent roughly half the second hearing nothing but how awesome he was.   (Seriously, if I ever felt Revan was exagerated, it was listening to everyone in KotOR 2 go on about him.)

^ Trully I prefer those Ancient Sithlords. Like Naga Sadow and Maraka Ragnos. They're more Epic than a vague character.
Master Vrook, HK 47, Jolee Bindo, Sion, Kreia and the Mandalore are the best characters in KOTORs.

actually after reading the Revan novel I wasn't that concerned. Regardless of "canonisation" fears I just don't understand it. when I play Kotor and kotor 2 that "canon I blend out and create my own. Regardless I quite enjoyed the read of the book and after all the "oh nooo" beforehand I don't get the same feeling about it at all. I'm perfectly happy with the canons (yes my personally conan is slightly different). However I still envisioned a similar fate for the exile after the ending of Kotor 2. so I'm fine with it.
Yes it is a set-up for TOR and without TOR Revans story probably would have ended differently. But I still quite like it and for me it still plays well into both Kotor and kotor 2.
and I don't get the "hatred" either ... :z
