I'm no huge fan, but all this hate is senseless.

It's not senseless if you're read the atrocious books. Purple prose everywhere, paper-thin characters, a heroine that gets everything she wants without fighting for it, seriously misplaced priorities, an abusive love story, immense loop holes the size of the planet Jupiter, lack of a properly designed plot, lack of a cohesive fantasy world with proper rules, etc. It's really quite awful.

I've read all of the books.

...yes, it's senseless.

I have too. All four. Hoping to God that they would improve and each book was somehow inexplicably worse. Breaking Dawn's plot is somewhere between a telenovela and My Immortal. :(

Edit: Actually, that's not entirely true. New Moon is berable until she doestroys the book at the end with the whole Volturi fiasco.

Oh, I understand. I think the "hate" stems from the fact that people are tired of the books being praised as being amazing. I don't think anybody cares that people like them, just that it's passed off as "good literature" when it's probably one of the worst written series in modern history.

But yeah, there's no need to wish death on Kristen Sterwart. If we go by her facial expressions during her acting roles, she's already dead on the inside anyway. ;)

well i don't hate it per se... but unfortunatly i have friends that evryday kill my brain with:

Ooooh my gosh look it edward... Ohhhh why this guy don't exist.... Omg this saga is so beautyfull...

When you ear for days and days the same things you will become very annoyed...

I readed the book and since i can't see why this hype... The books are boring and also chilidish in many things.. The character have the personality of a old rusty paddle.. And the story is builded over and over the same arguments..

They had lost me at sparkling Ribena vampires.

I've always wondered if you can be a professional fanfiction writer. Stephenie Meyer has answered my question.

Of course, just like Justin Bieber and Tali, the h8ers are riding on a lot of "love to hate". You can't help it, human nature when the popularity is unjust.

To Twilight's Author's defence, she has good writing skills. She just has crappy storytelling abilities.

King compared the Mormon author to JK Rowling, saying that both authors were "speaking directly to young people". "The real difference is that JK Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn. She's not very good," - Stephen King.

If Stephen King says you cant write you probably cant.

Anyway I dont care if people enjoy Twilight, I dont understand why though but everyones different.

She doesn't die at all. In fact, she's the strongest character in the series.

Thats funny because I wouldn't call a cardboard cutout a character.
Anyone who knows from the books would understand this is porn for people too young for porn.
If you like this stuff I just feel bad for you for not being old enough for porn.

twilight seems to be incredibly hated round here, it often gets a bashing in random threads quite randomly lol. Yes its overhyped as a piece of writing but plenty of people love it and i think it serves as a good bit of fluffyness when in the mood for it, much like a disney etc...
Anyway, a private group might be your best bet lol, im sure more people would join than admit to being a fan in here :P

Haha Yes. Like I said before, I just made the thread for people who Liked the movie.
I didn't expect everyone too bash it, and that will probably be the reason this gets a lockdown.
As also as I stated, this wasn't the smartest idea too make a thread here on this site.
I'd probably get a better chance with a group which I might make, and make it private.
Or just do a Facebook fan page. Haha
And I don't think you can remove threads.

I haven't seen any of the films or read the books.

However, IMO Stephenie Meyer seems to be a pretty solid writer. The Host was an excellent read.

Exactly! :P Anyway sorry if we derailed it ThaneKrios, I realise this is supposed to be a fan thread for the film.

I liked the special effects.
