When I play a game like Final Fantasy, I can save kittens from trees, kiss babies, help seniors walk the road, take my sweet time and defeat an evil of all evils.
IRL I'd save kittens, kiss babies but because I take my time helping granny open a can of tuna the evil of all evils achieve world domination.
Enter Dragon Age, I defeat a fade demon possesing a boy within a quest (Arl of Redcliffe), save the boy and next thing I know a local village is under siege (Loghains men).
This had me wodnering what if I had I taken Morrigan's advice earlier in the game and confronted Loghain himself? Could I have prevented this attack? But does this mean taking this path would have triggered a mass genocide of Redcliffe's population courteousy of the goul squad? Is one boys life worth that of an entire village? IRL is it really worth sending a Grey Warden off to look for an urn while a war and invasion takes place? Probably not, but since time isn't constant in this game, to what extent are decisions taken chronologicaly into account?
How realistic is Dragon Age Origins? To what extent is Dragon Age like Majora's Mask?
Thanks
