Steam discounted it during the Autumn Sale, so I'd check there or on this Thread each day...I have a feeling they will again...I'll keep my finger crossed for you Image IPB

Yeah they had me at "Realm of the Diggle Gods"

No idea what that is all about, but it sounds like some kind of spoof of Boogie Nights.

LOL! Actually not, it's a dungeon-crawl but that gives you an idea of the Game's sense of humor...the other cool thing about it is that the dungeons are randomly-generated, so when you replay it trying a different set of Skills it's not going over the same ground...

My personal favorite joke in the Game is the "Emomancy" School of Magic...spells like "I Love You But I Can't Be Near You" and "The Cure" cracked me up!

It's hard to get into because I thought it was autosaving but it doesn't so you die your done and I got pretty far and died and nothing had to start over. Makes it hard for me to want to keep playing.

If your talking about Dungeons of Dredmor, you can save and reload...I think the default setting is the hardcore "die and you're done" mode, so you have to un-check the box for that Mode and then you can save whenever you like...I thought the same thing at first...the only time the game Autosaves is when you use the Stairs to go up or down a Level.

I also went to Gaslamp's site (I think that's the devs name) and noticed that they are still fixing a few bugs...it's actually kind of impressive, the info they had up about Patches indicates they are REALLY responsive...they are patching almost every time they get enough reports on things...never seen a Dev patch problems so quickly!

You missed out- Amazon has had Deus Ex:HR for $9.99 for the past several days. Since its Steamworks, you can buy it off Amazon and just use the activation key to download it and put it on Steam like any other Steam game.

Although, it hasn't been directly discounted on Steam for their Holiday sale, so it'll probably show up sometime before its over.

Is Bulletstorm worth $5?

I have been waiting for a price drop for AGOT Genesis, but I think I will keep waiting. It got pretty bad reviews; however, I'm such a hopeless fan of this series that I will probably still buy it, maybe after it drops below $10.

Sonic Generations... booyah! I was hoping that would go up soon. I'll have to buy it tomorrow morning. Darn banks with their closing today. I used the last of my spendable debit cash on Fallout 3 earlier.

That's a good deal too. It would've been tempting if I hadn't bought the King's Bounty Crossworlds: Game of the Year Edition at Amazon yesterday. It's probably for the best. I try to avoid buying Steam versions of games where I can. I'll eventually get the original King's Bounty from GOG instead. These holiday sales have been great for replacing my retail box copies of games. Come to think of it, Sonic Generations may be the first game I'm buying this month that I don't already own. :P

Oh dear, now I have to either put up or shut up.

How does this work exactly with amazon? Do they instantly email me a Steam code, or do I have to wait for some kind of package to arrive?

Is Far Cry or Bulletstorm any good?

I'm not very familiar with these, but Far Cry 1+2 is $7.49 and Bulletstorm is $4.99.

With other Steamworks games I've gotten digitally off Amazon, you buy it like normal and then you'll have a section on your Amazon account which shows all the digital download games you've gotten from them. You should see an activation code right there, which you can just go ahead and put into Steam by going into Games --> Activate a Product on Steam then punch in the code and download. Or you can download the game directly from Amazon but then you'll have to activate it on Steam anyway.

The first Far Cry was great for its time, but it hasn't aged very well. Basically, its a sort of open world type shooter , a lot like the first Crysis since it was made by Crytek. Far Cry 2 wasn't made by Crytek but still goes for the whole open world approach. Its got a cool setting in Africa thats really unique and its a big open world to go around, but I found it pretty repetitive and boring once you get past the nice graphics since so many of the missions are similar. Kind of like the first Assassin's Creed, really. And the AI and behavior of the enemies was annoying- its supposed to be an open world game but almost everyone you run into is an enemy that shoots at you on sight with pinpoint accuracy, even when you think you're hidden and they even if they're running around without a shirt on, they soak up bullets like its nobody's business. So its a cool open world, but the actual gameplay was pretty disappointing I thought.

Haven't played Bulletstorm but I've heard nothing but good things about it, if you're expecting an unapologetically over the top shooter that realizes its completely over the top and revels in that.
