Amazing game though, awesome playstyle and lots of fun for RTS, but would recommend company of heroes over it personally (same dev)
Spacemarine might be good, haven't got yet, would have but too much backlog

More like Skyrim is going on sale the same day the Creation Kit, high res texture pack and Steam Workshop goes up.Seagloom wrote...
Sneaky. Skyrim goes on sale the same day Kingdoms of Amalur is released. Not that I can afford either game at the moment. If I could, I rather pick up Kingdoms of Amalur.
I think NV and all the DLC was likely cheaper during the Holiday sale when the game was $5 and each DLC was $2.50Seagloom wrote...
Speaking of new releases, Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition is out too. Not a bad deal for what it includes, but it will probably be better to wait for an inevitable sale.

Released the creation kit too. Kind of sleazy of Bethesda but such is the way of competition I guess.

Right now the Ultimate Edition is effectively purchasing the DLCs, and getting the base game (and the item pack DLCs) for free. Not a bad deal, but yeah, I'd wait until it inevitable comes down to around $19.99.

I have dawn of war retribution on Steam and the others are too. you dont have to use GFWL. If you have your graphics settings up in MP and the other guy can't match it then it will lag. SP wise I play on low and get no lag. When i played MP we both had Low an no lag. (Comp suck).DRUNK_CANADIAN wrote...
Also FYI, Warhammer series is near unplayable online due to lag, and Games4WindowsLive

They've been saying for a long time the Creation Kit would come out in January, and I think it got delayed because of Steam Workshop and wanting to get another patch out first. I highly doubt it had anything to do with KoA.Seagloom wrote...

It'd be a hell of a lot more successful with the former, no doubt about that. If it has both,at the same time, I don't see why not to have it there.I still think it makes more sense to hold a sale when it undermines a competitor than the release of a kit few outside the modding community will use extensively.
As for the creation kit itself, I don't think I'll be bothering with it. I prefer Amnesia:TDD's Story creator over skyrim's. There's a lot more subtle touches in atmosphere you can create with A:TDD's kit IMO. It's hardly user-friendly though, took a long time to learn the ropes.

It's not just Bethesda's Creation Kit, but Steam is introducing its mod manager tool which is in a flagship stage. Valve using the most played game on Steam to do it, a tie-in sale makes total sense.Seagloom wrote...

No offense to KoA, but I really don't think Bethesda is worried.

Of course Bethesda has no reason to worry about KoA. Skyrim is the critically and commercially superior game. I think anyone that pays the slightest attention to gaming news is aware of that. Still, since when has an unassailable advantage prevented one company from sticking it to another?
Were it just Skyrim's creation kit alone, I would find it hard to believe... which I did at the time.

I had no idea Steam was introducing a new tool simultaneously. Okay, now I am more inclined to believe the sale was meant to coincide with that.
MMM, mods on steam.
Now, there is the framework implace to allow devs to charge for mods! Could be cool.

How could they charge for user-made content? You mean like have the mod makers get commissions? I don't think anyone's going for that. For one thing, the Nexus still exists and its mod manager is a pretty good tool.Honeyydew wrote...

Well my rig is pretty decent if I say-so myself, but I still got laggy games (multiple players lagging), although I admit
Also no framerate loss for SP, runs perfectly for that.
Also seriously who shouldn't buy Skyrim or the bundle @ 33% off - 50% off ...I'd wager the game won't hit 66%-75% off for at least another year (maybe this year's Christmas sale at the earliest).
