^^ Aah, euro has plummeted a bit.
1 euro used to be more than 1.5 dollars. A year ago I guess.
That's the euro-zone crisis for you.
Anyway, whilst Steam has the neat screenshot/workshop thing going on, GOG offers more extra goodies alongside.
Also it is fair and good in principle that GOG has all prices in dollars. I don't want to bother re-checking currency values every time I buy a game.
+ Steam has very many regional restriction. I cannot buy Skyrim nor Batman Arkham City from them. Why? Steam doesn't bother making negotiations and makes too far-reaching compromises with developers. + GOG is free of DRM and the client, I also trust in their testing of games more than I do Steam's. It is a selling-point that old games actually work well in GOG, on any newer Windows.
(the last paragraph is more as reasoning behind my neglecting Steam for the time being)
edit: ok, part of my resoning also involves the fact that I already have more games on Steam than I can possibly play - at least for this year. But there's much more GOG value-for-price in games, so when I'll start buying again it'll be either from them or Amazon. This last advertising of Steam that made people pay 5 euros/dollars for nothing is also pretty bothersome. As is the "community" of swindlers and cons who I am required to contact if I'd want Skyrim, Arkham City or such games...
