What android said. Most of FO3's wastes weren't very exciting to explore. DC, and the interconnected subway system made for a much more enjoyable journey. Having said that, I enjoyed the quests and writing in FV more overall. Apples and oranges. Take your pick.

If you've played FO 1/2 then you'll likely enjoy New Vegas more. Its the real Fallout 3 storywise. It also has the better story and some of the best DLC I've played...all of which is included in the Ultimate. The companions are better in New Vegas and I love the survival mode and crafting.

The Actual Fallout 3 isn't terrible. Its great in exploration/environments . The overall story isn't as exciting though. Still worth playing. If you've got the funds, grab both. You'll get hundreds of hours of gameplay between them.

And speaking of hundreds and hundreds of hours of gameplay, the X:Superbox is on flashsale right now. Shame I already grabbed it.

Yeah I had to deal with the same garbage back when I bought Fable III from Steam. Never again will I buy a game that requires GFWL. Which sadly means I'll be giving the PC version of Dark Souls a pass.

GFWL is okay,  the thing really bothered me is SecuROM. Normally Devs will use SecuROM and GFWL together since GFWL barely had any copyright protection.

Yeah it really is. I consider it the DLC by which all DLC should be judged. Well the story DLC, not the item ones.

It's not that I regret buying Arkham City for the PC. It looks awesome and is as fun as ever. I just don't understand why they must pester us with GFWL. It's not helpful and it isn't actually DRM in itself, which is why you ALSO have SecuCrap on top of it.

Anyway good choice on the New Vegas DLCs. They are better and meatier than most DLCs and definitely worth it if you like the game at all.

I also have to say I disagree with the statement that the world in New Vegas is less interesting than the one in FO3. It was the opposite for me, even though I like the FO3 setting. New Vegas is also a tad more open. But it depends on your preference as well I guess. I enjoy the western theme in NV.

I buckled and decided to get KOTOR, even though I really dislike Starwars stuff. But everyone recommends it so much, that it can't be anything but good.

Well, hating Star Wars might get in the way.

KotOR 2 is a kind of a different take on Star Wars, finally with a few shades of grey. Felt quite refreshing to me.

I doubt I'll regret a purchase less than 3 dollars. I really wanted to try the second one, but it's not on Steam unfortunately. To be fair, I never seen any of the movies or anything else related to it, but the general knowledge of it rubs me the wrong way.

Hey I never said it was a bad game. I loved it. Story-wise it's better than the more recent BioWare games and the gameplay is very D&D 3rd edition-ish (because it's based on the Star Wars d20 rules I think).

Kotor is fun not groundbreaking mind you but a great Star Wars game because it has nothing to do with the movies. If you can find Kotor 2 on Amazon or Ebay you should definitely get it not sure exactly why kotor 2 isn't available digitally. I guess you could always pirate it but yea...nevermind. Obsidian did an excellent job with Kotor 2 though. Jedi's are alot more humanized and don't see like the gods they are in other games. They are afraid, hiding and dying out while the Sith Triumvirate were a lot more darker than Malak. They attacked from the shadows and became something only the dark side of the force could create. It's very different and well worth the search and with the Sith Lords Restoration project you can experience a lot of the cut content.

I would definitely prefer it on PC to the Xbox since the mods are practically required from what Ive heard. Depending on how much I like the first, I'll try and find the second.

I've never been able to find any place to buy KOTOR2 digitally. Is there some sort of legal problem with distributing the game? I don't have a disc drive, so I can't buy the retail version on Amazon.

The KotOR 2 ending really sucks without mods though. It was so boring I ended up cheating just to get through the endless fights a bit faster and get it over with. And I had been enjoying the game until then.

Does KoToR 2 play on PC now if you have Windows 7?  A lot of games from XP don't play on windows 7 for me.

No clue, sorry, I only tried it on XP.

A lot of the issues when going from XP to Vista/7 are caused by the UAC and the new rule that says you must have administrator priviliges to modify or create files under Program Files, and those can all be fixed by running them as administrator. Otherwise there's compatibility mode, and usually you can find some quick fixes on google.

There aren't that many games you can't possibly get to work in 7. Might be painful to get there though.

KOTOR 1 launches just fine on Win7, so I assume KOTOR 2, being more recent should also work.

Never had a case where any game I bought from Steam didn't launch, even Fallout 1 and 2 launched properly, although I had to use a mod to update the game to modern color palette and 1080p display resolution.
