Does KoToR 2 play on PC now if you have Windows 7?  A lot of games from XP don't play on windows 7 for me.

KOTOR 1 launches just fine on Win7, so I assume KOTOR 2, being more recent should also work.

Never had a case where any game I bought from Steam didn't launch, even Fallout 1 and 2 launched properly, although I had to use a mod to update the game to modern color palette and 1080p display resolution.

I don't believe Steam has Knights of the Old Republic 2.  If it was on steam I'd snatch it up.

FYI, I have a disc-based copy of KotOR 1 and got it running great under Win7 64-bit by going into shortcut properties and setting Disable Visual Themes. There were no issues with install.

Games I've bought in this Steam sale so far:

Rayman Origins
Portal 2
Trine
Trine 2
Bastion
Legend of Grimrock
Dungeon Defenders
Amnesia: Dark Descent(already played it though, just getting it again and supporting the devs)
Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition(already played it on 360 but I never finished it and never played DLC)
Batman Arkham City
Walking Dead
Assassin's Creed Revelations Gold Edition

I'm still waiting for a decent sale on Arma 2 and Shogun 2 Total War expansion to go to 75% off. Can't justify $15+ dollars on a minor expansion, IMO.

Pretty amazing deals coming up.

"We're sorry - this game is not available in your region.", and
"We're sorry - this game is not available in your region."

Not to mention Skyrim, which is not available in my region.

It's about time Amalur got a sale. The only damned game I can buy right now without a problem and would actually care for. A shame it has issues of its own. Do they even have somebody to negotiate the price with? Isn't Amalur now a property of the city it was made in, or purely EA? Chances are pretty slim - I gather - that it would end up in a -75% sale. -20 at best. And that's unlikely even.

None of the games I was hoping would go on sale have come up yet, making it a sad summer sale for me. However I did just grab 'Dungeon Siege Complete' on a flash-sale (all the DS games plus DLC for $7 is a steal)

How do people feel about Rage? I've been a little tempted to pick it up but I hear very mixed reviews on it.

I haven't played it either, but from a lot of the reviews I've read and talking to some people about it, I think its partially based on your expectations. Some people expected a more fully open world type game and its not. It just sort of gives the illusion of being an open world. Besides that, I think many of the technical issues have been ironed out and its a decent single player shooter experience with some nice graphics and a mediocre ending. I don't think the multiplayer is much to write home about.

It is a fun FPS with cool weapons and nice crafting. Got nice mini games and car racing. As shooting mechanics and "feel" its the best i have ever played for a long time. You really feel your shots, especially shotgun :)
Exciting weaponary. From mind controlling crossbow bolts which blows up the victim to windblades(bladed bumerang sort :))
You got 2 alive hubs,  beautifuly done cities. Many colourfull characters you can interract with.
Game feels like between Mad Max and Fallout.  Graphics are very nice espec. characters.
Wasteland is huge and lots of secrets waiting you to discover them.

Now for negatives, story sucks big time, ending is beyond terrible and meaningless, not enough boss fights, no deadmatch style multiplayer, graphics are good but lots of tiny objects have low pixels and for last game had serious issues about graphics and graphics cards( maybe they fixed this with patches, not foolowing that game for a while)

I only recommend it if you are a FPS fan and love wasteland style games. Just driving your buggy while watching the scenery worth it.

Could someone maybe mention the current price of Skyrim (pretty please)? I'm dubious as to would it be good for me to trade-buy it right now or not...

Kotor 2 story is unique for Star Wars though. The end drags out but remember Lucas Arts cut Obsidian's development by 6 or 7 months so they could launch the game for the holidays. The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod really does add a lot to the game. Whats worse is Obsidian wanted to patch in the content but Lucas Arts wouldn't let them.

Yes I have it. Naughty Kotor 2 isn't available digitally unfortunately.

Someone gifted the game to me. Image IPB
It's ok so far but I did run into a lot of problems so I'll have to take care of that first before I play the game.

Thanks for the RAGE input. Made it much easier to make a decide. Though I have no real expectations on it, I don't really like being stuck in First person. I do love Wasteland rpgs though, so I think I'll pass it in favor of another New Vegas run.

I would like to try Arkham City, even though I don't give a fig about Batman- but GFWL is the killer there. DNW.

GFWL sucks, but FWIW, I haven't had any issues with it with Arkham City. I think the key is that I created an offline profile for GFWL with Arkham City, which is something I never did before. Its a really solid action game with some great combat, even if you don't necessarily like Batman. If you do like Batman, then thats a big plus since its a decent Batman story.

So far my damage is:

The Walking Dead= $14.99 (had played it already on a friend's xbox but wanted a copy for myself for new episodes)
Hitman: Blood Money= $2.49 (Never have played a Hitman game but they always seemed fun)

I'm just waiting for Recettear and Crusader Kings 2 to go back on sale.

GFWL is horrible, but on the other hand Arkham City is worth it.

In my mind, GFWL isn't the worst part. SecuRom is. Yep, that's right, you have to log on to two accounts and have SecuRom at the same time. I still think the game is worth it though.

As crazy as it sounds, I'm tempted by Railworks 3: Train Simulator. I love trains. I've never played a simulator, though... and the Metacritic score is so low.

This is why Steam works. I would never even have known this game exists, and now I'm staring at the $50 price tag for the deluxe edition and actually considering it.

edit- Did buy The Walking Dead.  The spouse is pleased about that one.  =]

All I know of the Train Simulator games is that they had a Trains vs. Zombies DLC, and those sorts of sim games have spawned all sorts of terrible/funny dubstep videos that look like they came out of EA's marketing department.

My favorite is the Giant Bomb quicklook of the various flightsim games. Like the A10-C warthog sim that takes them about 30 minutes just to take off. Some of those flight sim games look cool, like Rise of Flight,  especially if you have stuff like the Track-IR and a nice joystick.

Yup. Especially with the big sales, it gets smaller games more attention and puts them at lower prices where you might be willing to take a chance on them, when you wouldn't otherwise.

I'm was initially tempted to get a driving game with this community choice thing and all, as I don't yet own one. Then I got a closer look and man would it be a tough choice of whom to pick. One is published by Ubisoft, and has more of a story-mode than anything else, not a pure racing game really. The other is a franchise held down by EA. The third one got my interest, and I would have voted for it and bought it regardless of how much the price'll be down - but alas, it has THE WORSE THIRD PARTY DRM EVER. You can only activate it on 4 computer set-ups - if you've upgraded your video-card for example, that's one less life for it. After 4 it's gone. Even if you've bought it.

What a waste. I for one don't buy products with limitations this radical. Damn SecuRom, damned you be for all eternity.

Batman A:A and City are the only games i have with GFWL they are that good. It runs really smooth and looks great on max settings although you need a 570 GTX minimum for that.  If you dont like the Bat then yeah dont bother as in Arkham city you are the Batman.

My damage so far ;

Crysis complete,
The Darkness II,
Dear Esther ( 70 pence game which isnt a game)
Dungeon Siege Complete,
Hitman Collection  ( where the **** is contracts???)
LA Noire Complete,
Mount &Blade Complete,
Saints Row the Third,
Super Streetfighter IV : Arcade edition,

That will do me as well already got a massive backlog.

To be fair, I have a 680 GTX and a powerful machine in general, and the performance is not totally smooth. The framerate in general is acceptable (45-50ish with my current settings), but you do get the odd stuttering. I don't think it's an issue, but it's clear that this has not been optimized well enough.

Anyway, I am wondering if The Darkness II is any good. The whole lights thing sounds annoying to me, but otherwise I wouldn't mind a shooter that is at least slightly interesting.
