I feel so happy for waiting. Just bought Spec Ops the Line for 10 euros!

Again 15 euros for Bloodlines as in the last sale. Still too expensive.

I do have CDs but they are quite broken after a moving accident.

A good rule of thumb is to wait until the game you want is one of the Daily Deals or Flash Deals or buy it on the last day.

I bought Bloodlines during one of the Summer or Winter sales a while back for $4.99

I must have missed a Flash Deal. I checked every daily deal for the last few sales. But I will be sure to keep an eye out for it now.

Yes, the Flash Deals are diabolical, as they require you to keep checking the steam store a few times each day.

Didn't you get an email "one of your games on your wishlist is on sale"?

Could somebody notify me when Dark Souls and Skyrim are on sale? I don't have the option to buy them myself, so will have to find somebody to trade with when the time comes.

(they're region-restricted so I can't even see 'em)

They are both currently on sale 33% off, but I think the sale price will drop much more at some point during a Daily Deal or Flash Deal.

I would check the Amazon Late-Breaking Deals page occasionally. They have been price-matching most of the flash sales, and I don't think they region lock (though I could be wrong).

Well, they region lock in the sense that you must have a US address in order to purchase their digital game DLs. But it's easy enough to get around that particular restriction...

You should be able to buy Skyrim very cheap for PC, just visit one of the sites that sell the CD keys.

Sounds totally legit.

Region locking is awful and needs to go away., but at least amazon.co.uk will gladly sell me region 1 DVDs and blurays. It's illegal for any local stores to do so. Not illegal if you send it from another place in Europe though. Not illegal if you buy them directly from the US either, but then customs may take your package hostage until you pay a fee for what is often more than 100% of them item's value. It's all very silly!

It is, if you use the right sites. It does require you to do your own research.

Dark Souls on PC for $15. It's a Russian keysite but I've used it for Dark Souls, Civ V and the expansion so I recommend it. Dark Souls's region restriction is because of GFWL so if your country isn't supported by GFWL then don't buy it but if it then go ahead.

The way the site works is you buy it but you have to wait a couple of hours or longer because they will buy it themselves (I think) and just send you a picture with the serial code for you to redeem. If you have a problem such as it's taking too long let them know their support is actually decent and they helped when I bought Dark Souls.

You have to sign up for a GFWL account even if you buy it from Steam?

Yup, From Software inluded GFWL because it was easier to port for them and well yea. Still the game is excellent and worth dealing with GFWL.

Is it more like FO3 or Arkham Asylum?

The GFWL for Fallout 3 was not so bad.

The GFWL for Arkham Asylum Arkham City was much worse, so bad that I never completely finished installing the game and very much regretted wasting money on it. Even though I bought it on Steam and was already logged in to the Steam client, I had to sign up for a number of different kinds of accounts, type CD keys on two different websites, create a useless hotmail account, jump through a bunch of registration hoops and then I could play the game, but I was not permitted to save my game. I learned that in order to save your game, you have to sign up for yet another account, some sort of Xbox "gamer club" thing. I just uninstalled at that point and will probably never bother with that game again.

EDIT: Sorry, I had Arkham Asylum and Arkham City mixed up. Never played Arkham Asylum before, Arkham City was the one that was a massive PITA to install.

Umm I never experienced any of that when I played Arkham Asylum. o.0
Still it was relatively painless logging into Dark Souls.

Actually, there's a relatively easy bypass to GFWL region restrictions. Lying.
Plus, in my case it's not much of a lie really as Finland is supported yet the small country next to it (Estonia - where I'm at) is not. Though it's really not more Russian-speaking nor "Eastern Europe" than Finland.

I haven't noticed that they'd assess the player by the IP, and if they did, there's always Off-line.
