Uh oh. My first steam summer sale. Should be an interesting experience.

Everyone's first time is pretty awkward, messy, and generally not what they expected.......Talking about Steam Sales.

Here's a tip though. Don't buy anything really on the first day or so. Typically whatever is on sale the first day will go on sale later and probably for a better deal. Unless it's a Daily Deal, Flash Sale, or Community Pick. Also franchise bundles usually do pretty well especially the more popular ones. This means if they do well enough, they'll make it to the last day where the best sellers of the sale either go on sale again for the same discount or sometimes better.

Better to wait the first day. That said if a game you want on the first couple of days is on a Flash Sale or Daily Deal you may as well grab it. Because that's when you'll start to see the 60-85% off.

And if you missed out on a deal don't worry because the last two days are usually the encore sales so they may put a game you missed back on sale.

IF IT ISN'T ON THE FRONT PAGE IT ISN'T CHEAP ENOUGH. Usually the best deals are on the front page. So if a game isn't on the front page better wait to pull the trigger. It may go on sale later for cheaper.

I usually don't buy anything for more than $10, unless I want the game really really badly.

Also, forget about collecting summer sale trading cards and crafting the badges. Just sell the cards in the Community Market as soon as you get them. They expire by the end of the sale event, so price them a penny lower than the current market value and you can get rid of them right away.

The normal summer sale and holiday sale trading cards are usually worth around 10 US cents and the foil ones can go as much as $2 USD. So you can make a couple dollars if you are lucky.

Oh my. The Steam site is right now the digital equivalent of the three stooges going through a door.

It's hard to do anything....

Um, well they're both different really. 2033 is pretty short compared to CoP. And neither are open world. Though Last Light has some pretty large areas if I recall. But both 2033 and LL are great in terms of story, level design and atmosphere. I'd say since you can get both for 10 bucks it's worth it. I imagine if you like STALKER and/or Fallout or any Post-Apocalypse games it's worth it.

Yeah I might end up getting it. I bought Metro LL already. The only game so far that I'd want to really get is Styx, but it's 11 bucks right now. It is a Flash Sale though......

I may wait it out anyway. See if it pops up again. If it sells well I'm sure it will.

I really want the 2013's Tomb Raider I hope it goes on sale. Probably in a Square Enix bundle I would imagine. Speaking of anyone think we'll get a FF Bundle or sale?

Metro has some... interesting lore. Like the fact that even the afterlife was nuked into oblivion. I guess that'll do.

I'll go ahead and repost this link.

It may take it some time each day to update. But at least it's a better comprehensive list than just scrolling through the Steam front page or searching individually

https://steamdb.info/sales/

Tomb Raider is on sale for 10 bucks all week too.

Yeah bundling the main game and DLC then "discounting" it so you still gotta pay 60 bucks.

smh

Yeah, dick move to raise the price 25% just before the sale so that the 25% off doesn't actually do anything.

and it's not like GTA V hasn't sold enough copies.

Haven't participated in the summer sale in over two years, the deals just don't seem as big as they used to, plus the fact more publishers are doing questionable things to artificially keep the price up or they just aren't cutting prices as much as they used to.

Those cards sell fast man. I put two up so far and they all sold literally right after I posted them.
