Gladiatrix is now posted on the vault after ten months in the making!

Born into nobility, your adventurous spirit eventually leads you to the arenas of Waycross, an unlikely place for a Lady of the realm. Fame and fortune await in the midst of danger and treachery as you work your way through the gladiatorial ranks. Your success in the arenas will soon be noticed by a mysterious, secret organization that has need of your talents, but your decision to assist takes you down dark paths.

**WARNING** This module contains explicit sexual content. There are times when sexual encounters are played out and animated to their full extent, however, the player has the option to opt out of those situations based on decisions they make in the game. The module also contains full nudity and sexy, fantasy armor. If any of the above offends you then do not play this. This module is for adults only. Do not download or play this unless you are over the age of 18.

FEATURES:

- Custom and unique scripting, particularly in regards to arena contests featuring a no-kill system

- Your win-loss arena stats are recorded by the in-module statistician

- Extensive use of CEP creatures and content

- Nearly 90,000 words of dialogue

- Several possible ending romances

- Fully animated intimate encounters (Warning! Very little is left to the imagination.)

- Custom armor and clothing, some from the community and some of my own design

I would be interested in feedback from those who aren't sensitive to the risqué content. If you can handle 'A Dance with Rogues' you should be okay with the content in Gladiatrix.

I hope you enjoy the adventure!
Gladiatrix

Now I understand why this game is callled Never Winter...
We shall see. ;)

jml, it looks like a female character is mandatory. From the readme:

[Gameplay Requirements]
- You must play as a human female.

- You must start at Level 1

- You must start your first level as a fighter due to armor requirements

- You must start with a minimum of 10 charisma. 12 is recommended in order to not miss out on opportunities.

OP, what is the level range for the module? The readme says character must start at level 1 and this thread mentions epic, so it must at least go from 1 to 21...

Also, must one really start as a fighter, or can any class that can wear armor work? Must it be heavy armor?

Hi MrZork. When I mentioned Epic in the OP I meant that it was epic in scope as categorized on the vault. In other words, it's not a short little dungeon crawl, but takes you to many different places where your character grows over time. Your character will also eventually be involved in events that will have implications on her very world. That's why I defined it as epic. It wasn't meant to refer to a character of epic levels. Sorry for the confusion on that. You'll start at level 1 and can reach level 12 by the end of the module.

You are correct that the character must be a female. She also must start her first level as a fighter. The reason for that is that she will eventually be given armor in the module that she will have to wear, such as plate. Instead of leaving someone stuck midway through the module I made it a requirement to be a fighter at first level. You can choose any class you want after that. I can't stress enough how important it is to have a build that will do well in one-on-one melee contests. I imagine barbarian and ranger levels would be fine for instance, but you would probably struggle during your arena career with wizard or cleric levels. I haven't tested that though. I think weapon focus and weapon specialization would be important feats to work into your build.

Hope this helps.

I just so hate fighters... but I understand the reasons here.
Anyway, I might try that next week myself...
Meanwhile, thanks for the gift.

Well, that is a very nice module you made there. Quite surpising at this "10 years" time of NWN.
If you care for any comments, just let me know me.

A pally is essentially an anti-fear cleric/fighter, a divine combo which would rule most environments even with only 12 levels max... unless this module has significantly nerfed cleric buffs,  Let us not forget the most luscious female fighting diviner of all time either. ;)

BTW, which version of CEP is required for this one?

edit:  Just found the readme which says it is v2.3.  Probably not a bad idea to get the version number right out in the open of the vault page without needing to dig further.

I like single player games and just barely finished the Neverwinter Original Campaigns. This is the first SP mod that I could get into and it was gorgeous! It's amazing to see how much user created content is out there and the way you used it was fantastic, Rayne. I'm not much of a wanderer and your mod was just the right fit of thoughtful, well-written, storyline along with cohesive and fairly linear gameplay. Of course I really wanted to explore the romance, and lovemaking, found in this mod; neither one disappointed me.

The experience left me wanting more and I'm hopeful to see what the future holds for you, this mod, and others like it.

@HipMaestro
I stand corrected. After further consideration, a paladin or cleric combo might be quite successful in my module. In fact, one player told me they played one level fighter and the rest cleric and went undefeated in their gladiator career, which I didn't think was possible.

@bnoabody
Thanks for the kind words! A sequel is in the works. You can track the progress of it at the following link. I'll be posting weekly updates.

Just finished playing through last night. Cool idea and well executed.

Regarding class selection, I played as a pure cleric and had no real trouble. If anything, some fights were too easy (due to Hold Person, etc.). The only caveat is that many of the arena fights are scripted to start with conversations, so any buffing has to be done before the convo starts and then one must rush through the convo to ensure that short-duration buffs don't run out.

Anyway, I enjoyed playing. Consider this a vote for continuing with the sequel. :)

I just finished this last weekend and like it very much.
Best mod after ADWR if you don´t mind a little adult content. I really didn´t expect such a gem after nwn has been released for ~10 years. Can wait for the sequel. ^^

Played through Part 1 with 3 characters now. I'd add Fighter/Bard to combos that hold up very well in the mod. Buff before entry into combat, and then suit up. Song/curse song and away you go.

She only lost once, (you can guess which fight), and even then it was 'very' close. As in, he cheated and used his potion close. grrr.

Bored ****less.

Slogging throught dungeon after dungeon after dungeon after dungeons gets old FAST. Especially when there is like 2 minutes of plot between them and the fights are little more than "heres a remesh of the same fight you've done 20,000 times." This time you have to left click on Crocs and watch them die, next time you'll need to left click on bugbears. There are no tactics whatsoever, just throw bodies at you and walk through corridors. I can't understand how that is fun.
