Can't really think of two more different games than skyrim and ME. Dunno why people compare them.

Well, that's a good sign. Even though Skyrim basically has no character interaction to speak of, the fact that nobody is raging about it is very good news.

Just get your nonsensical fanboy petitioning away from me.

There's a certain fanbase that has been built on fanboy petitioning. Can you guess which one? ^_^

If you want to refer to what Skyrim offers as "romance", go right ahead, but I certainly found it to be nothing of the sort. It's just "Hey, want to get married?" "Sure, why not?" and then you have someone to cook for you. That's about it.

So Mass Effect's "romances" are the pinnacle of depth and storytelling?

A girl I know when playing Skyrim beat up a guy in a dark alley and then he said he wanted to marry her.

I think Mass Effect's romances might just be a bit more in-depth than that.

Honestly, you might as well have been romancing goldfish in Skyrim. That's about all the interaction you get.

[Edit: Noting that I adore the elder scrolls series, and just feel that the romance [and nay, characters] in the game were incredibly lacking. Espiecially considering Fallout 3's characters, and the numerous, numerous 'romance-companion' mods that were made for previous elder scrolls series.]

That's how I got my husband to marry me! I beat him up in a dark alley, and he was instantly smitten! Image IPB

Bwahaha! Comparing Skyrim to Mass Effect? Wow. I just, that's comparing a fruit to a vegetable. Yeah they both provide nutrience but one is a lot sweeter than another. LOL

I won't say which is sweeter cos I am biased.

Mine. Image IPB Well, we were the first, that is. Certainly not the only ones anymore, but at least we get a plaque and a basket of nasty cheese & crackers.

The only good characters I've found in Skyrim are this guy who teaches you Sneak in the Ragged Flagon who has an awesome accent and is passively sympathetic about being pulled into a rathole full of thieves so quickly. He's pure awesomesauce.

Then there's Mirmulnir. That beau-tee-ful hunk of potential scarred reptilian squadmate (Or even mount? OOOH!) was murdered by Almighty Storyline before I could strike up a conversation with the hopes of hearing a

"Silviana."

"Mirmulnir."

RIP Mirmy. I totally virmir-- Err, assassinated that guard that shot you in the back while you flamed me and I tried to find the "Talk to Mirmulnir" prompt.

There is really no good way to compare ME and ES, they may both be RPG's but that's where it ends, they are two completely different game's and should be enjoyed for there difference's and what they offer (sp)

i doubt these "romances" were not suppose to be anything but- well... shallow and superficial. personally i think it really has no place in games like TES, what with the main focus being exploration and adventuring (and of course quests, yes).

not that i mind implementing this new feature, hopefully it shall be improved in the unforeseen future maybe not, but- pfft, honestly we all have games like ME to default to no?

(i play...)
-TES: for open world exploration and story
-DA and ME: for the character interaction and romances (ha!) and story
-Fable: for a good laugh

see they all have a place in my heart lol.
