Hello, I really like Dragon Age, but I have some problems with the pause in the fights.
1. You should be able to set a waypoint for your chars to move toward during the fights. This could be easily done. For example:
Chose the move Option in the ring-menu > set the point you would like to move your char to (similar to the field for area of effekt spells) => Your char moves in the selected position.
2. You should be able to make more then ONE action during pause. Its really annyoing that pause is ended by selcting a spell or something else.
It should be like this: Activate pause, chose char, chose spell ect, select next char, chose spell and so on. And then deactivate pause and everything will happen simultameously.
Ok I know if you set the option to hold down the pause button, you can swap between chars, activate spells and then release the pause button, but I would love to see this feature for the open/close pause option as well.
Please Bioware, think about this little features for the XBOX/PS3 players... it would really improve the gameplay.
Please improve the pause on XBOX

There's an older video of a demo of the xbox version of the game that clearly shows them pressing the right thumb stick to switch to tactical mode.. So at one point the game used to have all those options you just asked for... I have no idea why they took them out.

"Ok I know if you set the option to hold down the pause button, you can swap between chars, activate spells and then release the pause button, but I would love to see this feature for the open/close pause option as well." so multiple actions can be achived by holding the pause?

I would really like for a way to Move Companions during a pause, or a way of recalling them all back to my character (There are many times I try to pull my companions back to a trap so I can regroup and can't.)
It really wouldn't be to hard given the current settings, just make a move option in the advance menu and have the character move to that point (Brutal Legend Did something similar for its Console RTS so I don't see why Dragon Age Cant)

This is the main reason why console version of DAO is not on pair with Pc. I don't expect an upgrade with tactical view, of course. But something to fix that tricky pause system is the right way to help the game in terms of strategy and tactic.

You know the way you place a fireball? Why not use a smaller circle for move commands?
I really don't see why that wasn't implemented. YOu don't even need the tactical mode for that....

hehe just ocurred to me...
I never tried pressing the thumb-stick. Wouldn't it be hilarious if that function was still there but just not documented?
Not that I really believe that.....
Anyway - I'll surely be pressing both sticks the next time I'm playing

It would be very nice if when you bring up a spell or ability that uses the circle that the game switch to a more overhead view for easier placement.

Yes I really hope they'll fix the pause. If only one of the Bioware Developers would read this
I'm pretty sure someone just forgot the move option in the pause...it just makes no sense at all. Maybe someone from Bioware could give us a respond on this major issue!?! It's not just a bug but its a very important feature that kinda got lost or forgotten.

Nah - things like that don't fall under the table by accident.....
My guess is the tactical vie was to hardware-hungry and manually positioning you party with the current camera would come in handy now - but it would be unwieldy. And people would think they have to use it and there would've been a lot *****ing and moaning about it.
So as far as marketing goes the inferior controls might have been the better choice.
Which I'm guessing is why the devs put it in first and were then made to remove it by someone else...

yes, that could be the reason. But as far as it works for spells like fireball it can also work for movement.

and if you implement it later it can be seen as purely optional bonus *beg*

I have the console version of DA. And i'm thinking to buy the PC version, because the console version battle feels so..... Ugly and unfinished.
