It isn't realistic to put female Shepard in the role she is in.

Obvious troll is obvious, but for typing five whole paragraphs in a grammatically correct manner, I believe some sort of a reward is in order.

So here, OP, take my blood-soaked sanitary pad, rub it all over your face, then proceed to jump off the highest building in your immediate area. And, oh, try to land on your head.

Stars forbid I be allowed to play and enjoy a video game as a female character, the one gender I can relate to, rather than just another male character that comprises 99% of all other video games.

Females make up about 55% of the world population, though granted we perhaps only make up 20% of the total "gamer" population.... still, would you deny us the simple pleasure of being able to play our own gender in a game just to appease your primitive notion of "realism" in a game that is leagues beyond anything with a semblance of "realism" in it already? <_<

I think we're due at the very least some tiny bit of representation in games as lead character.. Bioware is one of the few companies that allows us this.

Thus we get to the real reason behind the Lazurus project.  It turns out Cerberus spent billions resurrecting femshep to ensure the Normandy kitchen was always fully staffed

I think the op was born a hundred years too late for her views to be taken seriously.  I am surprised she didn't go the whole hog and insist women should be "seen and not heard" and "women should be barefoot and pregnant".

If the op really believes what she is posting then she has a very poor view of the modern day woman.  However at the end of the day femshep is a CHOICE.  If you have 18th century views about women then no one is forcing you to play femshep.  But there are people that do appreciate seeing a strong female character in a game for once (instead of the usual muscle bound neandrathals) and it is excellent to see companies giving at least some attention to strong female roles.

Cheez brings up a good point right here.

What if femShep was having her annual ladytime or whatever it's called when she met the Rachni Queen and she gets all ****y and fries her and boom, genocide + galaxy is doomed forever.

I didn't think of that... maybe the OP is onto something here.

Okay, I'm going to say this coming from the military myself. Female are just as capable, if not more in some instances, to lead men and women. My own squadron commander is a female, and she is highly competent, level-headed, and fair in her decisions that she makes. She was trained to fit in that role, and she does it perfectly. It takes effect in today's modern military, and it has been proven that females can hold these roles and get far into today's military structure. You can't say any likewise. There are women deploying and fighting on the front lines these days, too. Every argument you make falls apart in comparison to real world scenarios. I see no reason why a female Shepard comes across less plausible than a male Shepard lead in a command role.

Male/Female if you got the experience my ears are open , because at the end of the day it's about being alive , not stupid and dead because you have a problem with women giving you orders.

I understand what you are saying but this isnt necessary because it only a game.. In real life, these rules apply. But what you're saying is flawed since it only applies to a game.

I also dont think you're sexist. I get your opinion.

... Well... once again Cheez expresses her vitriol to a stupid poster infinitely better than I could ever hope to.

Or just the 50904 woman currently serving in the US navy alone...

Well, she being a person who can kick the **** out of a Yahg and headbutt a krogan I wouldn't dare put a video camera in femshep's bathroom. I take it you're a woman from what you said. Plenty of women out there can beat a marine in a straight fight so... wuss.

Obvious troll. I honestly don't believe that you are "of the female gender" and if you are, you are a sad and pitiable specimen. Thankfully we aren't all like you. There are more Commander Shepards out there than you realize.

It's not just because of "it's only a game", though. Keep in mind that ME takes place 170 years in the future. How many women served in the military 170 years ago from today?

You can't be serious.. I put her as an example. You talk like male's are some superior species and that women are pretty much useless in war.
Joan of Arc:
Was in the front lines, Wore plate armor, Led a french army and died burned at the stake. and you know what? she was a woman!. move with the times, dummy.:P

But it's pretty realistic having a little orange computer that appears in your arm at will and throws fireballs.
Of all the unrealistic things in the ME universe you choose this to complain about? In a hundred and seventy two years from now, I believe things will change at least a little bit. Don't you? Either way, don't like femshep, don't play as her, just deal with it. =)

You can suspend your disbelief for alien space battles and glowing blue space magic but somehow the idea of a female Shepard is what breaks your immersion?  Seriously?  You know what else isn't realistic?  Biotics.  Finding out that 90% of the intelligent alien species in the galaxy developed bipedalism.  Having any of those alien species be sexually compatible with humans in any way.

Has anyone else noticed that the only aspects of realism that these people champion are the hurtful stereotypes?  Dragon Age?  It isn't realistic for all the LIs to be bisexual!  Mass Effect?  It isn't realistic for Shepard to be a woman!  No one ever seems to complain about any of the other myriad unrealistic elements involved in these franchises, and I can't help but wonder why.  Well, I know why, but let's pretend that most people aren't bigots in disguise anyway.

Honestly, I'm always up for a good troll. but this is just thinly veiled sexism. You could atleast throw ONE reasonable argument in there. this is just
"women can't handle authority positions simply because their bits do not dangle".. There is no argument needed here

Though I'm pleased you didn't mentioned their periods. That would of been like running them over with a megatruck with your subpar reasoning.
