So I followed pretty much every single tip on BSN threads and I STILL cannot get the avatar up that I want. So what do I do? These are the things I've done:
1) Cleared System Cache
2) Deleted Characters from the Profile Diagnostics page
3) Followed steps 1-9 in the blog done by bobobo878
So now what? Any help would be appreciated greatly!

Given that the avatar on the forums isn't strictly a game problem I would 'say' you've posted in the wrong boards; the website tech issues board is more appropriate and the people there are likely to know far more (than myself at the very least). Knowing where to get the help enables you to solve the issue quicker.
Having stated that I would add the following. Usually on console, once the game logs into the EA servers various data gets uploaded. As an end user we don't really have to do much. To select a new avatar all we would have to do is find the right page (I always forget where it is) and then click on the avatar we want. That's how it should work. Unfortunately given the amount of people having problems with connecting to the servers....well...that somewhat negates how the info is passed on; i.e., makes it more difficult.
Personally in such a case I don't see steps 1 and 2 having much to do with it, though 2 may suggest there are limits to how many characters are displayed here; step 3 I know nothing about so I can't comment.
