Hey all, I've recently discovered all the wonderful mods for the BG games (by G3 and others) and wanted to ask if perhaps I've missed something essential before I start a new BG1. Right now I've got EasyTutu (with Hard Times), the widescreen mod, and the tweak and fix packs by G3. Is there anything else out there with anything close to as major a boost to enjoying the game? Thanks.
Starting a new epic journey through the Sword Coast

If you enjoy the story and the NPCs, you should definetly install the BG1 NPC Project - one of the best mods out there - it basically adds lots of well written BG2-Style NPC interaction to the game (including romances and NPC quests).
If you enjoy the tactical combat (and already have a lot of experience with Baldurs Gate) I'd recommend Sword Coast Stratagems - most people here use it, it's a highly costumizeable modification, mainly with AI and difficulty improvements, but also some utility.
Have fun!

Stratagems sounds absolutely lovely, I really like tough combat without having to resort to stuff like soloing games or playing at level 3 when the game intends me to be 10 (which is something I do a LOT with NWN2). I'll check out the NPC mod as well, BG1 is a little lacking in party dialog after all.
Exactly what I needed at epic speed, thank you very much Enuhal.

In addition to BG1 NPC project you might like to add BG1 Unfinished Business. This was an attempt to reinstate content that was originally planned for the game, but dropped during development. It provides a bit of extra richness to the game without any radical changes.
If you do want to add tactical challenges you could use one of the many mods adding extra encounters and areas, e.g. Dark Horizons, Secret of Bonehill. Note, however, that such mods tend to provide high-powered equipment which can unbalance the rest of the game.
