After an extensive beta period, PC Patch 1.05 for Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age: Awakening, and the Dragon Age: Ultimate Edition is now live and official. Steam users will receive it through the Steam patch delivery service and other PC users can download and install the file from our Dragon Age: Origins patch page (which also includes our notes for the patch).

We're also working with Transgaming to roll out Patch 1.05 for Mac, although it's not available as of this writing. As console users are unaffected by the issues addressed in this patch, there is no need to release it on X360 and PS3.

Thank you for your patience and a special thanks to everyone who took part in both our private and public betas.

... So it's more of a authentication fix rather than a stability issue/bug patch?

Aw. I hoped this would fix that Awakening bug where it doesn't do a post game save and so it thinks companions I left behind at the keep are dead even though I upgraded it fully. It means in DA2 I can't meet Nathaniel :(

Also hoping it would fix the Silverite Mines bug in Awakening where there'd be no NPC wearing your gear and so you could never get your stuff back.

I know dude. To think we waited for quite a while for an official fix. Since my game runs fine on 1.04, I'd be skipping this over.

No fix of the Zevran romance bug that makes him forget he's in a relationship with the warden in DA2?
Fantastic.

This patch broke the game for me. When I try to launch, close and goes to store page. Worked until this patch.

Windows 7, 64bit

Great! Now Dragon Age doesn't work.. at all. Brilliant to push a patch out without any testing before Thanksgiving weekend.

I have both Origins and Ultimate Edition on Steam. After patch, Ultimate edition no longer works and simply trying to launch the game wants to download the Origins version (all 15GB worth)...

What can we do to fix this or reverse this patch?

Lovely. After update (Steam version), clicking Play now launches the Steam page. The game will not start. Even attempting to run the EXE from the folder has the same problem. Windows 7 64 bit.

I'm submitting a support ticket. This is great - I love paying for a game to have the ability to even launch it broken by a patch.

No doubt, I would be happy to just reverse it.. I didn't have a problem with anything the patch supposedly fixes, so yup I'm upset about this breaking the game for me. Was planning on doing some questing since I'm stuck at home for the holiday

Same for me,  Running the game from the steam library, the desktop shortcut or navigating into the \\steamapps\\common\\dragon age ultimate edition directory brings up the launcher, as expected.
Clicking Play brings me to the steam store page for Dragon Age: Origins (not, Dragon Age: Origins
Ultimate edition) with the option to puchase it, should i want.

At a guess, i think someone screwed the Steam AppID's and the game is under the impression that i am trying to launch Dragon Age vanilla, to which i don't own the license and then redirecting me to the store page so that i may buy it.
But that's only a guess mind you.

Ohh and
Running Windows 7, 64-bit.

Is everyone that is having the "return to store page" issue in Steam own Ultimate Edition?

I'm betting it's simply the wrong patch has been applied.. i.e. there is a different patch for Steam Origins and Steam Ultimate Edition. When launching, it identifies as the wrong game. In my case, it wants to download/install the old one, in other people's cases that don't own both, to the store page for plain Origins...

My SO is Win7 64 bits.

This patch broke the game for me in Steam. I have the Ultimate Edition, and didn't have a problem with it before the patch. Now I can't play it.

I can only confirm what previous posters have already reported about the game not launching via Steam. Win 7, 64-bit.

DA:O Ultimate (Steam & Win64) doesn't work properly. It redirects me to the store page instead of launching the game :(

Good catch, SharkFood.

My purchase was for "Ultimate," but the store page opened from the game launcher is for the "vanilla" version of DA:O. Your diagnosis is probably close to the mark, if not right on the money.

Well, looking on Steam's forum, it seems those complaining are also with Ultimate Edition... so there's our bug. As I own both, it wants to download/install Origins so it looks pretty clear what the issue is.

Let's hope Bioware hasn't gone off for Thanksgiving holiday yet, or if Steam can roll-back the patch. I'd also think given the size, we only need someone with DAOrigins.exe from Steam that hasn't patched yet to distribute their older EXE, so we can set the game NOT to update then copy the older one back into place?

Maybe so Sharkfood, a solution would be nice. Makes you wonder who pushed this out without even testing

What idiocy to auto-patch a version I don't own!

What idiocy to release and patch and then disappear for a big holiday weekend!

What a gang of idiots!! :( :( :x
