I'm having the same problem.
I just recently purchased the Ultimate Edition on Steam, and was able to play the game without any problems for about a week.
Now, whenever I try to launch the game I get the message, "Dragon Age: Origins has stopped working". It's very frustrating. I've reinstalled the game, I don't know how many times, I've tried the game on Origin, but Origin just opens up Steam and the same problem persists.
I've been at this for days now,
Any suggestions?

Thank goodness, I thought I bought a game without expansions. This download fixed it all.

I have posted further down in this forum but thought I would mention this. I have an issue with Stone Prisoner and Feast Day Gifts. I just reinstalled DAO and have this new patch. Unfortunately from the registered content page there is no way to redownload them. It is not an authenticate issue but rather one that won't let me access my games because it is not showing up on the installed section of the downloadable. I got lucky and found in a thread a way to get the Blood Dragon Armor to show there, but not the other two.

If you have any helpful suggestions how I can get those two back please let me know. If I ever uninstall DAO again (doubtful) I will make a backup so I never have to go thru this again.

Seriously, why have this even become and Issue? Bioware should have addressed it long before, with testing and such.

I have DAO Ultimate and when I download the patch and run it, it says that there's no version of Dragon Age on my computer...All the DLC is installed but "unauthorized." Tech support gave me the run around than disconnected me. <sigh> This is why I stopped buying PC games.

I downloaded the 1.05 patch. When I click to start the patch to install it, I get a pop up saying can't find the DAO install, reinstall.  If I start the game, then click on the patch is tells me there is a game running and I need to turn it off to install.  Question is: Where should my game be installed for the patcher to find it?
DAO Ultimate Edition, not from Steam. from Game stop download manager program.

I just installed this patch to Dragon Age Origins and now I can't even open the game or get it to run! What's going on here? I'm probably half way through the game, and I don't want to have to restart it.
