Okay, this has to be some of the wackiest dialogue I have ran into. Must be a glitch.

I'm playing female human noble warrior. I just finished the Orzommar quest (last one then off the to talk to Arl Eamon about Landsmeet). I'm in a intimate relationship with Alistair. I turned down Zevran, but I accidentally left the dialogue option open that says, "Do you always look at people like that?" Which left me open to renew a relationship with Zev. Zev's next response would have been what about Alistair, so I left it alone and haven't talked to Zev since then.

So here's the weird part. I'm talking to Sten (gave him his sword) and Lelianna comes up and asks me about Zevran. I tell her that he's a nice guy and that she could join us (she doesn't seem to realize that I am sleeping with Alistair). This is so strange...I picked that response so maybe she would just hook up with Zev. Lelianna wasn't interested. So her next response is, "looks like you want to talk"..(sten is still standing right next to us. Usually they are in their own spots), I ask her about her bard lover (can't remember her name) anyway as the dialogue progresses she tells me she loves me...and that she'll talk to me later. Her meter was on warm and at least 30 points away from 100 originally same with Sten. So then I decide to check there meters Sten is 100 percent friendly; Morrigan is 100 percent friendly; Zevran is 68 percent interested; Wyne is about 65 percent warm; Alistair is 100 pecent in love and so now is Lelianna 100 percent in love with pc. So I left them and went to talk to Alistair.


This is the most interesting and strangest dialogue yet...from Alistair.
As soon as I click on Alistair, he starts spouting off...."So this might seem a little strange, but I havce to ask you something...It's personal. I'm wondering about Zevran. It seems that you two have become quite friendly."

I tell him there's nothing going on and he replies that he's the luckiest man...blah, blah, blah...then...

In the same breath Alistair asks... "What about Lelianna then? I mean....sure...hot...But I don't like the ideal of you leading her on.

I reply, "It's not the same as you and me."
Alistair replies, "You either choose me or her."
I reply, "I choose you."

And no negative points for any of the parties.

Have you ever heard of anything like this happening?

I've had it trigger at odd times, while sort of not flat-out rejecting Zevran or Leliana but not necessarily going for a relationship  (what can I say, I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings...and I kind of flirted with them both on one playthrough *cough*). The one thing I found weird was that after Alistair brought Zev up and forced the choice, Alistair goes for the kiss and asks if it was too soon (which he kind of does early on in the romance). Sounds like both potential romances are supposed to be a legitimate rivalry, but by the time you actually get Zevran, you've probably zipped way past the first kiss with Alistair. *chuckle*

I am doing another playthrough. First one he did the ritual, this time I am thinking I will make the final blow. I am going to have give Wynne more hold powers, since I am going to lose that when Morrigan leaves.

When you leave Alistair at the game, does he try to not get left behind?

PC: I can handle responsibilities
W: Love is extremely selfish

and there are several other choices you can make....

A side note: Before I went to talke to Alistair sister...when I first got into Denerim....Wynne and Alistair were traveling companions...

Wynne struck up a cute monologue with Alistair about him looking at my pc's back end...it was pretty cute.

THIS was what gave me an inclination of what would happen.  As soon as I had this convo with Wynne I researched and saw pretty much what I'd have to do the rest of the game to get a semi-favorable outcome with romancing Ali and trying to keep everything as happy as possible.  I'm still really disappointed, but I still haven't finished, I've been taking my time trying to figure out what will give me the best of what I want

Oh, hi Ines.

Glad you're enjoying the game even though Daveth can't be with you. I totally understand your ire about that by the way, I would've loved to keep him too.

So, you like Zevran now? Wow, what a turn-around. I remember you being all for killing him in the worst possible way before the game came out. If I remember correctly, you deviced all kinds of scenarios to kill the poor elf in the worst possible way.

As for the mod, I wish I could use it, but alas, the toolset is needed and my poor little lap-top can't take it. Oh well, my girls go for Zevran anyways, so it's not such a big deal.

I also agree with you about the ritual. Looks like sex to me too, nothing more, and definitely nothing that says "blood magic ritual". The best thing about it is Loghain's reaction if the PC can convince him to do the ritual. Maybe they should've done something similar for Alistair, that way it might have been easier for the Alistair fans to swallow.

Yes, in one of my playtrought ( when I played as a Dalish Elf) I started romance with Zevran..and It was a big surprise that I enjoyed by this romance more than with Alistair ( don't know,maybe becouse it's more "mature" for me than with Ali?). After that I wanted to recreate Zevran's appearance, and now he had hairs and tatoo similair to Tamlen's and I worked a little with his face. About Daveth..well I CAN have him in my team, thanks to nice console command zz_e3addparty ( it will add Jory and Daveth to yours team). He can't level up ( but Im using console commands to give him skills) and he havn't new dialog ( the worst..there's no romance with him) but still I have my hundsome rogue with me
About Morrigan/Loghain  Dark Ritual dialog I saw it and it was very funny indeed. To be honest, after I found the way how to avoid DR and still have happy ending I never accept Morrigan's offer. I just don't think it fit well with story and really I don't feel that's something needed there. 

I agree. I think it was done to throw the Alistair romancers into a dilemma, so they can heroically sacrifice themselves instead of giving in to Morrigan. Since I don't romance Alistair, I just flat out refuse, sometimes I take Loghain, sometimes Alistair is 'it'.
My girls think that they've done enough for the GWs and Ferelden, and they also think it's the best thing for Alistair, to go out in a blaze of glory and rejoin his admired Duncan father-figure. My only regret is that they can't force Anora to give more honors to the fallen hero.
I don't ever miss Morrigan at the end-battle, Wynne does just fine. Besides that, one of my girls is a mage herself, the other a rogue with archery mastery. Good enough for range attacks in both cases.
I'll have to search for your solution, I bet it has something to do with the console

Hmm, I wonder if Alistair's character appearance can be replaced by Daveth's in the toolset. I really hate that I can't download that, but my laptop would go into open rebellion.

Thanks Ines, I found it a few pages back. I'll try that, most definitely.

Oh, and don't feel bad about people jumping on you for that. Last time I looked this was a single player game, and no one is forced to use anything, be it a console command or a mod. Unless you went to their houses and put a gun to their head that is, lol.

As far as I'm concerned, everybody has the right to do with their game what they want, even if I suddenly decided to turn everyone into pink and purple bunnies. So don't let it get you down.

Im glad that Im able to help all of You who don't like Dark Ritual idea. For me, it's just a try from Developers to add more drama into story, but in my opinion without succes. This scene even don't look like any Ritual for me, just simple sex that's all.  And to be honest I don't like it, becouse it's don't make game more dark or dramatic, just can make someone, who romanced with Alistair more angry . ( Of course it's only my opinion  ).

I agree with the more angry part def... I was upset that after playing for so long n really enjoying my female pc n Alistair that when in the end I didn't want to lose the relationship they had to develope so I ended up doin the damn ritual... I wanted to yell at the screen n slap the **** outta Morrigan... Glad for the Esc button though, I couldn't get myself to watch the damn sex scene between Morrigan n Alistair lol...
I wish we would of been able to have an extra dialogue option though when askin Alistair to do the ritual, something like;   "I would never ask you to do something like this, I can't stand the fact that you'll be with another woman n I know it's selfish for me to even ask but I love you Alistair n knowing the fact that if we don't do the ritual 1 of us will be dying... So if I'm being selfish about not wanting to lose you or what we got then so be it but know I'd never ask this of you if there was another way out of one of us losing the other."   Or something to that effect lol...

Just watched the youtube video of "Ill do anything for love"-see above post. It was....wow....sent chills up my spine. It is the perfect song. (and it doesn't hurt that I am a Meatloaf fan anyway).

After he is hardened, I forgot what the subject was about, but he ended with I want to follow thru with this.  You're a hard woman to resist and so on.  Unhardened...it was much more duty and honor.

As for the hair...they both could do with better hairstyles.

Now their voices....I love Kaidan's serious tone and demeanor.

However, I also love Alistair's accent and teasing.  Just hate his lack of decision and whining.  What I would like to see is Alistair a little bit older and more mature.  Then our knees would go weak, I think?"  You cant tell me you didn't a little breathless when Alistair says, "Maker's breath, your beautiful?"

Only weeks away from ME2 and I kinda want to skip it for ME3.  We'll be playing ME2 just hoping for some Kaidan crumbs (any little bit of information we can get).

Someone said that Kaidan's hairstyle was actually some official military hairsyle...I think his character would be more limited in what he could wear but Alistair could have had a range of options...maybe someone will make a mod of him with a different hairstyle if they haven't already.

Alistair's humor(teasing) was probably the best thing about his character. I wish Kaidan had been given a little more of that in Shep's converstaion with him. You see he has it at the beginning of the game with Joker and a few times in passing conversations with some of the other characters(like with Ash in Chora's den) but it's very subdued. As for Alistair, for me after several run throughs when you've heard most of his jokes the whining began to over shadow the humor. His worst quality seemed to cancel out his best.

As for the voices I prefer Kaidan's. I do like Alistair's accent but Sbarge's voice is so unique it wouldn't leave my head for hours after I was through playing.

Some people have even refused to buy ME2 new as a protest over not having the ME love interests recruitable...my copy is already pre-ordered and pre-paid so I'm going to follow through with it. I've kinda got past the fact the love interests won't be a major part of the game...I can live with that. If I have to wait for ME3 for the romance part to pick back up I can read fanfiction till then. Some of it is better than even the first game anyway.

it's not far off from the Zevran convo, though, except Wynne complains about the sex keeping her up all night.
