Hmmm, I'm not sure what you mean by "love talk."  Zevran never says he loves you, no matter what (he shows it, just never says those words for reasons he does explain).  To get him to 100 love before Taliesen is either a bug or an easter egg, but it doesn't trigger new dialog with him or Wynne or Morrigan about it.  I do know how to get it to change before then (sadly) but it is for all purposes still Adore.

He doesn't exactly propose, but if you ever get to that point, you'll see why I'm calling it a proposal.  Just don't accept gifts if they don't mean something!

Although, I loved the farewell scene, but the after scenes were more than a little.. odd. No-one mentioned Alistair at all, apart from Wynne, who only said 'poor boy.'. I then went off and traveled with Zevran like nothing had happened.. Oh well, I guess it's one of those things were I will never be completely happy. :P

You are not alone in feeling this way.  I got the same end on my first attempt, and instead of feeling any pathos at what should have been a moving and tragic story, I just felt like the writers/developers abandoned me as an unimportant side story. They might as well have flashed a giant "You lose" sign on the screen, it would have had the same emotional impact.  Anger, frustration, utter lack of closure.

After more than a week of thinking and replaying bits of the end, the sad conclusion I have come to is this - Morrigan is the main story, and was always meant to be the main story, and if you made the mistake of choosing to be female, your only real option is disappointment.  The awkward shoehorn offer from Morrigan to go get Allistair to accept her deal was a pathetic cheat story wise, that totally broke my immersion in the gaming experience.  It simply felt like this was what they had planned for the guys, and just didn't bother to make a version that made sense for the girls.  I wish they had either found a way to make MY character the integral character, or hadn't gave me the option of playing as a female at all.

Obviously, the reason I'm having such a reaction to this is because the rest of the game is so extremely well written and produced.  If it had been crap from the start, I never would have cared enough to feel betrayed or letdown.  Nonetheless, betrayed and letdown is how I feel.

Just a statement here. Alot of you gals seem to really hate Morrigan. My first play through, I love this character (Morrigan). Now the point. My first play was a female noble and romanced only Alistair. He is very adorable. When it came time for Morrigans speech, I didn't even think twice (we were friends too). Save my love and myself? You bet! We would rule the kingdom together. I never worried that he would be thinking about her later. He's to fixated on me.

"Who do you bring with you on adventures? ALISTAIR! ... and some other people" had me in stitches (because it's soooo true), and "Licking a lamp post in winter (not historically accurate)" almost killed me.

Ah, it must be in the translation.  That happened early in the game?  You were definitely bugged.  This happens after the fight with Taliesen, which is just after you go to Denerim with Eamon.  It's at that point, by the way, that you get the proposal, but . . . I know you didn't, even if it happened at the proper time of the game.

You were completely bugged.   That should have happened way later.  But yes, you would not have gotten the proposal from what you described.  It's one of the tenderest moments between them, though.  And sorry about hijacking the Love Ali thread!

I kind of love that they make you make a hard decision...a really hard decision.

Doyou love Alistair enough to let him sleep with Morrigan.  I'd gotten so damn attached that I seriously had to close my eyes to hit the button. Isn't that nuts?

As far as the people who dislike him becuase he's a bit of a pansy...I get it...kind of.  Everyone likes different
kinds of men.  It doesn't make sense in the game for him to take total control...so yeah he's going to be a little weak.

Sense of humor is what gets me every single time.  Yeah, he's a little sappysometimes about Duncan..but hell, he had a pretty horrible upbringingand Duncan actually valued him.  It was a father figure thing...mostguys will get a little sappy about their dads...especially if they die in a violent way.

Most of the time though...he laughs everything off, even the really rough stuff.

God...I actually cried the first time I went through the market district and talked to him. Being the giant sap I am I chose, "I love you"  and the "And I loveyou.  Always." Thing nailed me...nicely done BioWare.

Having to watch with Morrigan made my stomach hurt...yeah...that whole virginity before your character thing makes that a little hard towatch.

I could go on forever about the romance stuff with Alistair.  Probably will.  I'm glad this thread is here for me to
obsess a little bit...and until the expansion is in my hands andI can't have him in my party, I'm going to delude myself into thinking I can...so our romance can go on and on and on. lol

I am still in awe at how this game makes me feel.  I know that I make my husband nuts talking about the funny stuff Alistairs says.  I am so appreciative of all the support this thread has given to all of us who are looking for the happest ending possible.

The problem is, the endings are highly buggy.

Yeah, I have noticed this too. For instance Alistair put Anora in the tower after Landsmeet and she had her title stripped, but when I talked to Alistair after all the pomp and circumstance at the end and he said he couldn't wait to be alone with me (melt), I had the option of saying "What about Queen Anora?"  Isn't she in the tower?  And the the epilogue saying that Alistair spent all his time with his love, much to the Queens discomfort.  What?  What queen? She.is.in.the.tower.

I was so into the romance that the moment I found out that female elves couldn't be queen, I just got up and walked away.  I was in shock.   I have tried to get the best ending possible.   I went through the DR with Morrigan(which the though of still puts a knot in my stomach), and fought to keep my man, which I did. But the ending still feels empty. The first time I chose that the Grey Wardens be remembered for their sacrifice and  I opted to stay in Denerim, which Alistair is happy to hear, then he eventually gets called away by the Grey Warden's hoping to return to his love's side soon.   I don't know, it just doesn't feel right.  I don't really think I am looking for the perfect Hollywood ending where every one lives happily ever after, but none of these endings feel quite right.  It's like ... I don't know.  Weren't there any female developers on this game?  I feel cheated somehow, but I just can't put my finger on it.  I know some else (maybe Addai67) commented on that there are no happy endings, just degress of satisfaction.  That maybe what we have to accept.

I do find some solace in that I am not the only one who is unhappy with some of the choices we have to make (or lack thereof) and the endings that we get.

Sigh, oh well.  Thank goodness for imaginations and I will just make up my own ending. :D

O_O He'll make the first move. I just started a new game...how do you get that to happen? Seriously.

This is how I got him to ask me:

** Just working on a Dalish Elf playthough and found out you can get an approval bump with Alistair in Ostagar, after you have your first conversation with him, talk to him again. I didn't realize you could do this. You can ask all sorts of questions. He will ask what you think of Duncan. I've only used 1 answer, but got a +2 approval bump. There was another answer that would probably have given more of a bonus, haven't tried it yet.

After Lothering go to various shops to stock up
Do Warden's Keep and get really good armor (all the while, trying to flirt with Alistair)
Get Shale as part of group (Alistair doesn't approve, but his drop is really low)
Go to the Circle Tower and finish that, get his 2nd gift.
Go to Denerim and do side quests (try to get as many supplies as I can and get my toon more levels)
Alistair is interested or Adores me, I can't remember which one
Go to Redcliffe - he admits to me that he is Maric's bastard son.
Save the village, do all sorts of good acts.
In the Castle I call in the Circle to save both Connor and Isolde
Find the Necklace, got the kiss, his approval is really high
He thanks me for saving both people next conversation - I did this in camp
Get ashes and heal Eamon. (He mentions his sister to me at some point and says he wants to visit her)
(I was at 100% Adore at this point) Go to Denerim and talk to Goldanna. I hardened him
Go back to camp and he asks me to join him in his tent

This is how I got it to happen, there may be other ways.

You just need to get Alistair's approval high enough without asking him to join you, and eventually he will.

The best ending that I found with Alistair is one of two possibilities first is being a human noble and becoming queen, or making Anora queen and running off with him to help rebuild the wardens,
