Kisses and "the benefits of traveling alone," - yes as you say.  However, I can confirm (from gaming exp and the guide, that  you can't sleep with Alistair (or any of the companions) except at camp. Also, he will only ask you to sleep with him once; after that, you have to do all the asking.   While there's suggestive dialog indicating about the threesome at the Pearl but there's no cut scene. However, there is a mod at http://www.dragonage...s.com/downloads that will trigger the romance cutscene whenever you ask Alistair to sleep with you after the first time.  The file name is "Dialogue Tweaks."  There's another one that fixes end game issues and epilogues.

Total shot in the dark, but I'm guessing before you go to Lothering, head to camp, tell Morrigan to scram, somehow get Alistair's approval up and ask him to your tent? No idea if that's possible, but it's already possible to bed Morrigan before you get to Lothering so why not this? ;)

But at what price?  The tent scene plays out so much sweeter if you let Alistair ask you first.

Side note: If you are in a relationship with Alistair and Zev at same time (both are at the Adore level) ande are traveling together, Alistair will not publically kiss you in front of Zev. Alistair will say...."I would rather not." You also get -2 from Zev.Image IPB

Oh, I'm just responding to the speculation of whether or not it's possible to sleep with Alistair without any voyeurism going on. ;)

And while I was the aggressor in the first couple playthroughs, I've let him come to me instead. Starting a romance with Alistair is like loading up the Titanic in the DVD player. You can practically hear Celine Dion singing, "My Heart Will Go On," as you walk into Landsmeet. Wynne used to irritate me with her "it ain't gonna laaaaast" warning, but I find myself appreciating her quiet wisdom, knowing it's about the journey, not the destination. Better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all, blah blah. ;)

Question on the mod thing. Does it require me to have to have DAO Toolset.  That thing blew up my old computer. Can I just download it?

Is there anything in mod to screw up game or computer?

During the first time I saw the cutscene where Cailan gets killed, the emotion in Duncan over it, my mind immediately went to slash between them. Same kind of relationship, really; mentor and light-hearted.

I could sort of see that, too, if the Alistair/Duncan idea went out of my head. I mean, even for a second.

It's kind of embarrassing. I'm even writing a fic now. Too bad that it's gonna suck because my English is s**t but, oh well. I swear it's like I'm 15 again ever since I bought this game.

You don't need the toolset to install mods. They are placed in a competely separate folder from your purchased game files. They won't replace any of the actual game files so they can be harmlessly removed if you want. And no, mods shoudn't screw up your computer in any way. Nothing is 100% certain of course but I have modded my games heavily for years and usually if a mod comes recommended by many users, it's pretty stable.

I suggest you install DAModder first. With it, mods are easy (that is, even easier than otherwise) to remove in case they screw up your game or you don't like them.

That being said, I have yet to encounter a DA mod that would break anything. Removing certain mods after you're far into the game might break dialogues or make characters look funny, though. If you install or remove mods when already playing a game, I would make a backup save first, just in case, even though usually nothing bad happens, you just default back to how the game originally worked.

Of course. There has to be a reason Duncan chose Ali to go. *wink*

I'm baffled. Or perhaps I didn't understand you. Why wouldn't you be allowed to write about the game story or its characters? Based on this forum, the game writers actually seem to endorse it.

Well, you can't sell your own DA:O stories for what would be considered profit. But you can publish them online anywhere you want.

Question: If you're playing a female and are in a romance with Alistair and also have him in your party for the final battle, is it a sure thing that he'll sacrifice himself for you? Because if it comes down to it, I'd rather that *not* happen; I'd much rather make the sacrifice than have him do it. On my fiancé's playthrough (as a male) Alistair talked to him about it, but in the end Alistair let his PC do the honors. Will Alistair offer me the same choice? Or will I just have to leave him out of my party?

If he is 100% with you, and you didn't take the ritual offer, then you will have to leave him out of your final party if you do not want him to sacrifice himself.

Hm.  That's unfortunate, but it looks like the only option I'm willing to take.  Thanks for the quick reply!

I've played through all the options with it at this point. It actually drives me crazy that the achieve you get when he does it, says that you commanded him to do so. And no problem on the quick response. Its a really heartbreaking scene if you adore Alistair :)

I had the same problem with the DAO toolset and my computer is pretty new/up to date.  However, there's a solution.   Dragonage Nexus has a toolset which they call DA Modder that you can use.  I downloaded it and it worked beautifully.   Image IPB

The first mod is called Dialogue Tweaks.  I normally don't mod my game, but I did enjoy this one.  I think I"ll probably download the Endgame Dialogue and Epilogue Slide Fixes also at some point.  The two mods are compatible and the folks at Dragonage Nexus give very helpful installation instructions to ensure that the two mods work together.

I really need to get the game on my PC. I bought it for XBox, and I love playing it on there, but man, there's no mods and I can't do a single screencap. I'd LOVE to be able to trigger the tent love scene every time.

On my Alistair romance playthrough, I actually chose a really different ending than most people...

I recruited Loghain into the Grey Wardens, and then went through with the ultimate sacrifice so Loghain could make up for lives lost at Ostagar by rebuilding the Wardens.

I'm pretty sure Alistair was not happy at all with me Image IPB

Actually, no, he will offer to sacrifice himself first and I'm pretty sure that with high coersion you can persuade him to rule on as the king and let you take the final blow.

Nup, it dosent matter if you have highest coersion, he does it anyway!
I think I tried it a dozen times different and had to see him take the blow every time... Image IPB
He dosnt want the love of is life to die, but YOU have to live on with out him... not fair!
It dosnt even work if you brake up with him before... he still loves you.
The words "I know you will forgive me for that" felt to me like a daggen in my heart.

But if you say "its crazy" atleast you get one last kiss...  Image IPB

As others have said, no you can't persuade him to let you die. You can leave him at the gates and go on alone if you want to sacrifice yourself and of course no-one dies if you persuaded him to join Morrigan in her ritual.  I suspect that in your fiance's playthrough either his PC did the Morrigan ritual or he talked Alistair into it because that's the only way.

I realized that if you give him the Beef Bone as a gift in Ostagar when you first start out, you get +5 with him. Raised by houdns, much?
