Ok, so spend most of weekend trying out Zev romance.  Either it was my timing or wrong dialogue choices. But it fell short of my hopes.

Am happy to say that I am still an Alistair girl.Posted Image

Would like to thank you and others for advice. I tried out different things to avoid Alistair romance and learned somethings in the process.

Sorry to hear that your Zev romance didn't work out.  But Yea! Alistair!

Can I get you to share some of the things you learned.  Even after multiple playthroughs, I am amazed when I find something new.

Mostly, it was the different responces I got from Alistair as I waited toward  the end to start up a romance with him.  Instead of the normal responce of, "Do you know you are handsome" or "I enjoy your company" to start a romance, there were new dialogue choice to get a romance started  in places that I have not seen before.  Hidden little gems that gave cause to smile.

The biggest things I found out were discoveries made by other people. As I was searching through youtube for informaton on Zev romance, I came across these.  Take the time watch. It's very interesting to how Alistair responds to someone he doesn't like.

I don't know if I could allow myself to get Alistair this mad at me in order to achieve what they did.  Mostly, I just try to ignore Alistair when persuing a romance with Zev.

Morrigan Slaps Back
I'm wondering what they did to get this reaction out of Morrigan

A very angry Alistair at Camp
I've never been a position that would require Alistair to respond like this to me.  Pretty intense.

Um, now that I have two nobles romancing Alistair I wondered if the rumour is true and nobles can't be mistresses?

One is a rogue who was eager to become a Grey Warden and who will be Warden Commander in the end. So she could be his mistress if that's possible.
The other is a warrior who didn't want to be a Grey Warden, who is a warrior princess sort of and will go for the beloved bride ending, naturally.

The sad part of this is, even though you can be Alistai's mistress as HFN, Alistair will have to be hardened in order for you to persuade him to keep you on as his mitress.  The moment  Alistair becomes king your status is no different than that of non-human or non-noble.Posted Image

Yes, I thought as much. I always harden him when he is supposed to be king. Can't go against his wishes.

Thanks for posting these.  I'm such an Alistair fan girl I was unlikely to ever get to see them any other way.  Alistair angry is rather good, isn't he?  He loses none of his usual articulateness...

I'm playing a male HN right now and I was on the receiving end of the Alistair hate talk (which happened directly after the "You killed Isolde...with blood magic!" hate talk). I have to admit, Angry Alistair is the hottest Alistair, as far as I'm concerned. That's why it sucks to do the "spare Loghain/marry him to Anora" ending, because he's being hot all over the place and there's no chance to be like "Damn, Alistair!" and kiss him.

Also, I was looking through my screenshots and, in addition to the usual pictures of my PC's looking ridiculous, I found this:

I don't remember taking it, but it's now my laptop's wallpaper.

Heh, me too. That's very nice. I wonder what was going on there?

Those videos were very interesting, and from situations that I'll ever see in game. It surprises me that people think that a character who gets thatangry and sarcastic is a pushover.

Feel free!  Heh, I tried to upload a larger image. It didn't work out too well.

Maybe this will: Alistair

I'm pretty sure it's from the conversation with Flemeth after she saves you from the Tower of Ishal. I love the lighting and compulsively Print Screen when I'm there.

Feel free!  Here's a link to a bigger version on tinypic (my Photo Bucket account is being a jerk): http://i48.tinypic.c...iw.jpg]Alistair[/url]

That link doesn't work, which I'm sure you'll get fixed shortly, but the error message made me laugh, so I wanted to share it.

I'm such a wimp, even watching those videos made me cringe and I was actually saying "I'M SORRY!!!" out loud, to videos (like it would be "slightly" better were I to say it to the character while I was actually playing those parts out myself LOL). I'm glad someone posted them though. I've seen them, now I don't have to be tempted to go through with those choices myself. Although he is hotter when angry. Hm...

I wonder that, too. I mean, when he confronts you at camp he does not back down, even if you threaten him. It's pretty impressive.

The link didn't work for me until I edited some bioware stuff out of it leaving only the tinypic http.....
Then it worked and is much appreciated, though. I think I'm going to have to try having more conversations outside of camp....

As I stated earlier I don't think I would like to play the game with Alistair hating me. However, I think I'm gonn'a try to see what they did in order for you to just smack her.

I like Morrigan, but I also have no problem with her being mad at me.

Its begging to be artsy with a quote next to it, for a wallpaper, but I can't think of a good quote. Should be something serious, to go with his facial expression there,....

For the Ali fans:

If you made Alistair king and did Morrigan's ritual, what is your feeling on what he and your PC will do with Anora after defeating the archdemon? Does she get the Anne Boleyn treatment? Live out her days in Fort Drakon?

Actually, if Alistair asked my girl, she'd probably suggest house arrest at Gwaren. We have no real beef against Anora, just that Alistair should rule.  Kara's Dalish and Warden Commander, she has doubly no use for the place. Anora gets guards and constant watch so she can't cause trouble, but otherwise can live out her life undisturbed. But I would have sprung for sparing Loghain if I could have kept Alistair, my girl has a soft heart.

I'm thinking she gets the Terynir of Gwaren. Alistair wouldn't allow imprisionment or death IMO, and she could do good there, and the people do know her to an extent.

You don't think letting Anora live would risk a rebellion in her favor?

That's why she gets guards - to keep her on her best behavior and ensure she doesn't plan anything.  I think the people will quickly see that Alistair is a good king and most  talk of rebellion will fall by the wayside shortly, especially since he helped rid the kingdom of the Blight and is backed by the ever-popular Warden Commander.

Anyone who's mad enough to try a rebellion then will get smacked down by the general populace pretty quickly.

Possibly. But in truth I haven't really thought too throughly on the subject. So here is my ,albeit, not too thought out reasoning.

With a Hardened Alistair as King, and with Eamon on the side as advisor, plus with the landsmeet backing them, I am pretty sure they can establish measures and failsafes around Anora. To instigate a rebellion she would need supporters/backers and the like. Which are pretty lacking post LM.

Depending on your playthrough, you can have the total support of the LM, despite that one Loghain supporter that NOBODY likes, or you took the melee battle and used force.

I am basing this though, on total support, minus the douche. I just can't see either Alistair or Eamon killing her or indefinately imprisioning her. But keeping her on a leash where she can do some good at least, definately yes.

Sorry if this wasn't totally comprehensible, it's late for me.:pinched:

If he's feeling charitable, he treats her like Eleanor of Aquitaine. She's imprisoned, but it's in a place she'll feel comfortable, say, a minor family property, with her staff and guard replaced by Alistair's.

I can't see him keeping her somewhere like the Fort. I think he'd either let her live in some degree of comfort or have her killed. Death would be the safest option. Exile would be risky, and letting her free, even with guards, would be too risky. The Mac Tirs have their supporters.

Even hardened, I can't see Alistair going with the death thing. She didn't plan the coup, she just took advantage of it. Her only real crime is refusing to swear fealty. I'm thinking he'll have her imprisoned somewhere with a lot of guards.

Oh, I think Eamon would petition for her death, as would at least some of the Landsmeet to secure the throne. I think that's what Eamon was going for at the end of the Landsmeet as it is. Alistair, I think, would balk at it. Depending on the support he got, he would either cave or resist. If my PC backed him in the decision, I think he would let her live, with appropriate measures to ensure her good behavior.
