I've done most of the endings, just because I'm one of those people that will flip through all the possible alternate endings just to see what happened. My favorites were:

1) PC and Alistair run off into the sunset, Anora is Queen. I liked this one the best. Anora got to do all that political crap she liked so much, PC and Alistair get to spend the next 30 years being Grey Wardens. Win Win.

2) Ultimate Sacrifice for the PC, Alistair is king. Awwh, sad, but he gets over it and does king stuff. It was sweet and tragic.

3) Ultimate Sacrifice for the PC, Alistair isn't king. This one was just sad. That and I hate Anora, so her running her mouth over my PC's corpse didn't sit happy with me. Alistair slipping off into the night never to be seen again gave me a sad face. Very tragic.

4) King n' Queen. Cheesy, and cute.

5) Dumped his ass, THEN grabbed Loghain and excuted Al at Landsmeet. Sorry, had to. I giggled the whole time because I'm a bad, bad person.

So far I've liked your number one the best but I also liked your number 3...sad or not I like the fact that he still longs for the PC. To me when he does the King stuff it's like he got over her.

And with number 5...I like your thinking...I didn't have Alistair executed because I wanted to see what the ending would say about him so I convinced Anora to let him go but I remember laughing as well when I picked Loghain. I had hardened him and he was being such a lunatic about being king at the time. The ending said he became a drunk.

Does anyone know the reaction from Alistair if you harden him(and he insists on being king) if you're a male human noble and you choose to rule with Anora. I would think that if he insisted on being King and you put yourself in that position that there might be a showdown or something....of course a lot of these endings don't follow the lines of logic...just wondering if anyone knew?

It's almost impossible for two grey wardens to have children together. It's not as hard for a grey warden and someone who is not a grey warden...hence Morrigan with child.

Almost impossible is not Impossible. Also anyone know the reason why never bothered to find out.

I think its becauuse of the Taint. Your essentially running around with a mutagenic/magical poison in your body. The end results being you end up unable to block out the calling of the Archdemons or the darkspawn and eventually it takes over your mind, unless you go out in a blaze of glory in the Dark Roads.
One person may be able to concieve a child with this poison in their system, and I'd bet its a lot easier for male wardens to concieve with a nonWarden female, than it would be for a warden female with the taint to concieve then hold onto a child for the 9 months it takes to bear it...and thats not even going into the odds of bearing a vaguely 'healthy' child into the bargin.

My video card won't support Mass Effect even though I can play DAO. So will have to play on husbands work computer .Image IPB

This is truely sad...I bought ME to get away from Alistair an you bought DAO to get away from Kaidan. So did you think Alistair was man enough to get your mind off Kaiden? I'm kind'a curious about this Kaidan guy now....cuz I really like alistair.

I felt ill running to Zev after being dumped by Alistair.  Like I totally betrayed or love or something.

I like Alistair a lot and he's a good distraction however I would choose Kaidan over Alistair in a heartbeat...Kaidan is a hopeless romantic. I couldn't see him ever agreeing to sleep with someone like Morrigan or dumping you to produce an heir or because you were and elf (or alien in his case).

Kaidan is different than Alistair in the fact that he way smarter and a lot more politically savvy. He doesn't joke as much(although the dialog between him and Ashley in Chora's den is fun...it's not automatic though...you have to click on the character for it to play). I guess they're similar in their inexperience with women. I don't think Kaidan is a virgin like Alistair but he's been hurt in his past and with as much confidence he has with everything else he's shy around women.

If you looked at the scene from youtube(maybe you didn't...some people don't like being spoiled but that scene is so easy to miss) you'll notice after he puts his foot in his mouth he becomes extremely uncomfortable and later is barely able to look at Shepard when he addresses her...he's bashful to the end. You can also change him as well but the change doesn't really affect the relationship with him if you play it right...it just allows you to play a more evil(or renegade)character without him disapproving of you(which they ME does through conversation rather than approval points).

As for Zevran...I have a hard time romancing him after Alistair as well...for me I think it's because you have to wait for him to show up...by the time he's gets there I've already been talking with Alistair to the point the romance is already in full swing...it's hard to change gears.

I will say this though...on my male character I kept both Leliana and Zevran on the line without ever choosing and was surprised at Zevrans' ending. I had heard he went back and became the leader of the Crows in one of them but I didn't know that on one of them(and this is the one I got) that even though the Crows tried to set him up with woman after woman he never accepted any of them and it said he never loved again. I thought "wow"...I guess ole Zevran fell hard. It was one of the ultimate sacrifice endings.

I also liked the ultimate sacrifice ending where Alistair leaves the Wardens and disappears because he's pining away for his lost love...beats him ruling with Anora anyday.

I finally been able to play ME.  My character has duck lips lol. I really suck at the aim and fire  battle stuff. Much more of a hack-n-slash person.  Anywho...haven't had much interaction with Kaidan yet.

I still muss Alistair.  I guess it's probably has to do who you meet first. Alistair or Kaiden?

I can't seem to get into Zev, but I love when he says, "What say you?" or something like that.''

I haven 't played that last option of your yet.  I did get him as a drunk ruling kingdom though.

I guessed that Alistair would automatically choose to be king if you harden him, when I played an elf.  However, thought maybe that I would still have options playing Human Noble.

1st time Human Noble I played Al unhardened, now I'm going to play Al hardened as human Noble.

I don't know much about the Calling(isn't it  a book about Maric and Loghain or something) but I've read various posts around and I think that Maric got a Grey Warden elf female pregnant. Don't know where that went...like I said I haven't read the book.

I really kind of wonder why it's so hard for the two to concieve though. They really don't give an explaination as to why. I mean you got the brood mothers birthing thousands of darkspawn and a woman who drinks the blood suddenly can't have children. Either they didn't explain it very well, they're being purposely vague, or I'm missing something.

Yeah, you really have to work at the character creator in ME to get a good looking girl. I finally wound up getting two to look pretty decent.

If your having trouble just set it on easy...as I recall you can essentially take down an enemy in two shots. I usually play on easy my first runthrough of any story driven game. After the first runthrough I'll go back and raise it...but first time it's just about the story...at least for me.

If you've come to the part where you save Kaidan from the beacon your first interaction will be with him in the med lab when your waking up. Depending on your conversation with him he'll give a slight smile...thats the beginning. You can then talk to him outside the medlab(he's in the mess). The second interaction you have with him is the one of the video I posted. After that talk to him after every major mission in the main plot and you'll get his backstory and will flirt with him a little.

If you want the jelousy scene between him and Liara over you...you'll need to make Liara think you are interested in her...but make sure that when she asks you about you and Kaidan that you say he is special to you...otherwise he's through with you.

The relationship will probably seem slow in comparison with Alistair because you really can't intiate anything with him as in asking him for a kiss or anything but the cut scenes more than make up for it when they happen.

1st time Human Noble I played Al unhardened, now I'm going to play Al hardened as human Noble.

:)I did the same thing. I've now got my human noble to hardened status. If you want to use my save you can find it at the Dragon Age Nexus...I included  a save right after hardening him.

OK, I like the game a lot and will be playing until ME2 comes out and I adore Alistair, but this has been the biggest disappointment of any game I've played by BioWare. I wanted at least one ending where I get Alistair, he doesn't spend the night with witch girl and neither of us die, until we are old and ready to go the way all wardens who live long enough go. Unless I'm missing something - please tell me I'm missing something.

I can tell this play thru my mage is going to be upset becuase he's with me.

I guess it depends on what you would consider a happy ending. We have it far better than the guys in my opinion.

Human Female Noble: Possible Scenarios

1. Alistair Rules Alone- pretty much this means mistress and go off to be with the grey wardens where he never leaves your side...I think you might also be able to get Chancellor in this one.  (This will be your most happiest ending as a non-human pc).
2. Alistair Rules with Anora - May or may not marry her....but she is stil another woman to share Al with. You still have the chance to be his mistress. Suggestion, make sure you have Al kill Loghain and there will never be a chance of Al getting together with Anora. If you let Loghain live, Al will leave you no matter what.
3. Al rules with human noble female pc - You get to become queen and hopefully Al is still in love with you.
4. Anora rules alone - and you go ride into sunset as grey wardens for the remainder of your lives.

If you don't make Al king you will be stuck with an epilogue box after final battle even if you have Al sleep with Morrigan.  And you will have Anora honoring you. If you make Al king...you get some nice followup flirting and he gets to bestow upon you your hearts desire. For me..Al must always get to be king that way I get to see him one last time in game.

To harden Alistair or not harden Alistair:
If you choose not to harden Alistair it will be much harder to persuade Al to become king and make you his queen. It's not impossible just need some really good coersion and cunning stats...As well as a 100% approval rating from Al (love). Unharden Al is sweet and can't seem to make up his mind about anything. That includes him fighting for you and your love.
If you choose to harden Alistair it will be easier to talk him into just about anything and you won't need as high of stats to do it. Plus, you will notice that the dialogue choices will change...he will declare is love for you more and is much more willing to fight for your love. That alone might be worth it to harden Al.

None Human Female PC (Elf and Dwarf)
1. Includes all of the above....except you will never become queen. Not an option. best bet would be to become Chancellor and co-rule if you want.
2. Your chance of happiness is slim to none unless you choose to harden Al. Not impossible...but it would take some serious work.

Sleeping with Morrigan
1. You both get to live for 30 more years
2. She hates Alistair and Alistair hates her
3. The only reason Al would even consider sleeping with her is because he loves you and trusts your decision.
4. I think she was telling the truth when she said that she would cherish your friendship (said during final battle)

The Nicolas Sparks Ending
Worth doing if you want to have that tragic romeo/juliet ending. Hint ....having Al give his life for you is much more romantic than you giving your life.  The only way to keep Al safe is to keep him behind.  Because if he goes and he is 100% love approval, he won't let you end your life.

Several Posters have had different endings if you sacrifise yourself.  But basically you get a statue in your name at the New Grey Wardens place.

Guys Ending with Morrigan...You spend whole game romancing her to get her into bed...she gets preagnate with god child and leaves their butts behind.

The Blight makes for hard times in a hard world.  Perhaps you won't have the most perfect happy ending with Alistair.  But lets face it....any ending that you get to be with Alistair is better than none. Take what you can get, make the best of it. Your time together will be short.

Ok, good to know, but does anyone know the possible scenarios if your PC is a human female mage?  Is it the same as human female noble, or no?  Been browing the forms here and le interwebs for a good long time now and cannot seem to find an answer....

To my knowledge as long as you are a Human female Noble you will still pretty much get the same outcome...it's a species thing. I have just started a game as a human noble mage; however I am not quite into the fighting. Will probably make her an arcane warrior....just to get some sword play.

Just passed the beacon scene.  And I did see the ever so slight smile from Kaiden (gonn'a have to work for this romance Image IPB).  However, I totally rejected Liara.  In fact when she talks about fallen comrads I told her war happens.  But then I go talk to Kaiden and am all understanding and sensitive.  And I really wanted that Liara was a bad option and shouldn't be posted to ship.  Don't know how much flirting she does with Kaiden.

All in all I will go back to right before all that to try your option.  Then I will go look for your cut shot. thanks. for intel.

I'm in love with Alistair....this is sooo sad.  Can't seem to get enough of him. I went and purchased Mass Effect just to play something different as I have never played ME before. I just wanted to get away from Alistair. The stupid ME game has installation errors. Thus I'm back to play my 3rd round of DAO.

First and foremost   I want to throttle unhardened Alistair. And though I love of man of integrity (when he refuses to cheat on his future queen and pc) I hate it when it produces stupidity.  So obviously I am still fuming over my ending of making him king and not being able to persuade unhardened Alistair to stay with my pc.

3rd round playing Female human Rogue again; however, this time, after Lothering I'm heading straight over to Redcliffe so he can tell me abot his sister. Then I am going to march over to Denerim and hardened that boy up.

Since I usually wait till very end to hardened Alistair up...I am interested to see if there will be a difference in the dialogue.

:DI actually bought Dragon age to get my mind off Kaidan from Mass Effect. I was writing fanfic and everything.

As for your installation issues...you might google your specific error or look on the ME website(technical forum or FAQs) to see if anyone else had the same issues. Can your computer handle two games that size...I'm assuming that your loading it up without uninstalling Dragon Age. I've got both of them on mine but I've got quite a bit of space(learned my lesson when I couldn't install Witcher...went back and upgraded...haven't had problems since).

If you get it running I think you'll like it. It doesn't have as much dialog as DAO but it's a great game. Your character even talks...something I really missed in DAO. If you romance Kaidan check out the overlook scene in the citadel. It's easy to miss. Once you get to the citadel you can't do any side quests in the game or the scene disappears from the game. Kaidan accidently flirts with Shepard and winds up putting his foot in his mouth.

It wasn't until about my fourth playthrough until I found out about it and I actually found it on youtube first rather than in game. I don't like the look of the Shepard in it but if you don't mind being spoiled the url is

www.youtube.com/watch

how did you get to the over look scene at the citadel?

DOES ANYONE FEEL LIKE WE'VE BEEN CHEATED ON TENT SCENE WITH ALISTAIR!?!

Just wondering. Because if you romance Lelianna and Morrigan. You get a whole lot more. Even Gay love scene with Zevran is more. By don't recomment watching Zeveran do male dwarf on youtube....somethings should remain inside the tent.

LOL...I think someone was working on a mod for that in the toolset.Image IPB

Hey I appreciate your input into making a warrior/mage characters, etc.  Have question for you. My game totally got screwed when I downloaded toolset. So I had to do a reinstall of game.  And I can't seem to get my cheats working again.

What id you put for "OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_x" ?  Also in my reinstall I am getting a differenct ending to my launcher.  You been pretty good about this stuff....have you ran into any problems?

Before I had to reinstall I had made a warror/rogue and saved game...but can't get cheats to work.

Thanks for any help.

Just wondering. Because if you romance Lelianna and Morrigan. You get a whole lot more. Even Gay love scene with Zevran is more. By don't recomment watching Zeveran do male dwarf on youtube....somethings should remain inside the tent.

Well the only thing I feel "cheated" in this scene is fact, that in game for mature players my PC have sex wearing underwear...

-First be sure that You created shortcut from this directory : Dragon Age/bin_ship/daorigins.exe and NOT from  just DragonAge/daoriginslauncher. Then type -enabledeveloperconsole
-second, be sure that You used a BIG letter for Button_x  i.e Im using R ( it have to be R not just r)
-about problems with toolset be sure that You have copy of  singleplayer.cif file,( DragonAge/modules/single player/singleplayer.cif) if You want to use toolset. Many times, when You using toolset and then You export any things into game it change singleplayer.cif file. If You will check this file it should be 47KB size, while toolset can replace it with only 1KB size file.
-export any things You created from toolset into game  with "Export without dependent resources" option. After that be sure that You deleted all files ( except of course those You created and want to add to game) from MyDocuments\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\packages\\core\\override\\toolsetexport\\

how did you get to the over look scene at the citadel?

Okay if you leave the market you'll go through the doors into a wide area that leads to flux, the medical clinic, and some stairs that lead down to c-sec. The overlook is between the door you go through and the stairs leading down to c-sec...go to the ledge that shows the wide open space of the outside of the citadel. You should find something that says overlook or something like that...click on it and the scene will begin.

or

If you fast travel to Chora's den after meeting with the council take a right from where you end up(don't enter the chora's den area which is straight ahead but take a right). You'll go through a hallway that is lighted red. continue to the end and take another right and go straight (you'll go through another door and if you continue going straight you should go to the ledge with the overlook.

I'm not to good with directions but when the scene plays you can see the stairs leading to flux right behind you.

To be honest I prefer my PC sex scene with Kaidan than Da:O ones...don't know why but I found some ME moments more emotional than in DA:O..i.e final battle..I like battles in DA:O ( my fav is Ostagar) but really ending wasn't too epic ( well I even sacrificed my PC to get more EPIC and emotional ending but it didn't work), while I JUST love ME final battle, and I feel then so proud becouse of my crew and Normandy..

Then I will go look for your cut shot. thanks. for intel.

I think you might be talking about Ashley...Liara comes later in the game...she's an alien, tenacles for hair and she's blue...I referred to her as a smurf. She's a book smart airhead and very easy. If you talk to her about personal stuff she'll eventually come right out and ask you about how you feel about Kaidan and how you feel about her(that's when you can make the choice of whether you want to do the jelousy scene or not).

If you do talk to Liara about personal stuff ,you can go back to Kaidan and he'll confront you on the relationship you have with Liara(even before the jelousy scene). If you choose this route make sure you do the quest that leads to finding Dr. Liara T'soni before you do Feros or Noveria. If you wait too long she won't even be interested in you.

You can also talk to Ashley after you are interviewed by a reporter  later in the game to find out if she has any feelings for Kaidan or not.

I agree. Mass Effect pushed all the emotional buttons with the ending. Going back and forth between your battle with Saren/Sovereign and watching the Normandy battle Soverign with the rest of the fleet kept me on the edge of my seat. Felt more like a movie than a game at that point. I also was very moved by choosing to save the council. And your right about feeling proud...it felt good to be the hero in ME...not so much in DAO.

I also agree with the sex scene...I didn't think the ones in DAO were half as good as those in ME. Of course I also think that the Kaidan relationship was much more romantic in nature than the one with Alistair. It almost had an air of innocence about it in the sense that the first time they actually kiss is the same time the sex scene happens. It built to a climax and you didn't get that climax until almost the end of the game. With Alistair you can get there fairly early on and the good stuff is really kind of over long before you finish the game.

I absolutely love Kaidan in ME, but I wish he had more dialogue. In fact, I wish all the characters in the game had more dialogue. Dragon Age has more depth in the characters, though that could change once ME2 comes out.

In terms of ME's sex scenes verses DA's, ME's is a LOT better in tastefulness and there isn't any underwear.

hmm..Kaidan..how sad that he will be not a companion in ME2 . Anyway back to romance in DA:O the only thing I like in this game is a fact, that I havn't "confession" scene right after end of game. The others things around romances aren't so great I like Alistair, and what's almost shock for me I like Zevran, but still there are NPCs I would prefer more as a companions/romance interest that two of them. Unfortunetly Devs decided to kill almost all my fav NPCs very early in game. I would prefer for example Daveth and Ser Gilmore ( fortunetly I heard rumours about Gilmore NPC mod). Also, for my Noble Female could be nice to have Cailan as a lover. Cullen from other hand, who ( I discovered in my second playtrought) had feelings for my mage could be her lover also. For my Dalish Elf I could choose Tamlen.

Hmm...if you harden Alistair, that means he will end up as king no matter what, that you can't even choose Anora? That kinda bites...no hardening Alistair and then running off together in the sunset and hosting pillow fights at greay warden headquarters?
