Maybe she thought your male PC was a potential john, or he's her crack dealer's delivery boy.

Once I found out that she's nicer when a male PC is there, I assumed that it was because she figured she might be able to play on both of their sympathies.

It's certainly a possibility. However, I favor she saw the male PC and thought easy coppers hawking her tawdry wares. Maybe hoping you're a desperate virgin like her brother?

I wouldn't be surprised if she could smell purity, like Oghren can.

Virgin, yeah, desperate, no. Otherwise he wouldn't want to wait. I find it difficult that Alistair hasn't had an offer or two.

Possibly, though the lack of women to offer have been scant until Ostagar. Templars and Wardens both seemed to have limited contact with females.

I don't know, there's something that he says to the FPC that makes me think he has been propositioned by a few other women. During the "have I ever told you how handsome you are" conversation he says "Yes, but those women were, heh, not like you."

True, but he somehow managed to come into contact with women who told him he was good looking, although they 'weren't like' the PC. I took that to mean women of dubious repute. I don't think it's so much that Alistair met no women, just that he met few, and none he would consider interesting, or the type he could fall in love with. That's what he'd be looking for, not being the one night stand kind of guy. If the PC represents his type, that's not surprising. ;)

I took that comment to mean those were ladies of ill repute.  Professionally ill repute, that is.  :)

Ohhhhh -blush-

I guess I assumed since he was training as a templar that he didn't run into many...erm...Pearl-like Ladies.

But, y'know, Alistair didn't seem that surprised to be in the Pearl, maybe he's been there before? Or maybe he's just used to being around the Warden, so how much more shocking is it to be in a brothel? We're talking about a person who has stormed Bowammar and discovered the Urn of Sacred Ashes.

I don't know how you would take this but he's definitely not accustomed to what a brothel really is just by this comment.

Alistair:  Why do they call it a brothel?  There's no broth.  Or is there?

Alistair's um Chantry/templar training really shines there lmao

Yeah, but I've never been to a brothel before and I wouldn't be like "Huh, brothel and broth a remarkably similar." I'd be like, "Why in the Maker's name are we in a brothel?!"

I just thought his comment was pretty laid-back considering that he supposedly has never been in one before. Or who grew up with the Chantry. It's pretty funny, to be honest^_^

The Pearl is a pretty high-end establishment for a medieval-type setting, so I'm guessing Alistair met up with the more everyday working girls on the streets of Denerim.

That's what I had figured.  For some odd reason I just can't picture Alistair going into the Pearl unless it was by mistake, "oops sorry I took a wrong turn, btw what is this place?" The more he looks around and see's the women and how their dressed, his face getting redder and redder and all of a sudden he bolts out of there.  Lmao now that I could see Alistair doing. Image IPB

If you ladies haven't read Freckles04's Becoming, you TOTALLY should.  She explores Alistair's experience of joining the Wardens, and has the Pearl scene in there.  ;-)  Its HILARIOUS.

**Sneaks into the thread to whisper, "It's also on FF.net if that's easier."**

Basically, my take was that Alistair ventured into the Pearl during the time he was with the Wardens before Ostagar. Much hilarity ensues, because he's still a virgin when the PC meets up with him, after all...

This gets to go into that "things you'd wish you'd known" category, huh?

Are you willing to answer how many playthroughs you've been through and not known that? ;-)

I've played through 3 times.

I kind of hate that radial menu. EVERYTHING that i've found out after playing through the game that would have made my life so much easier, has had to do with that thing.

*grumble grumble*

It seems like he gets more embarassed when people comment on his relationship with the PC even when it's pretty minor, but he can make jokes about brothels without discomfort. It might be something that's embarrassing to him when it's personal, but not so much in a general sense.

That makes sense. I guess it's more embarrassing for others to know about him, even though he kind of comes across as a gossip, though that could be said for nearly everyone in the group lol.

A little off topic, I'm writing a fanfic (which will probably not be posted but it's fun writing it) and I was going to have a conversation between Ali, Oghren and Zev about his and the Warden's sex life, mostly just to embarrass him. But my question is; how often do Ali and the Warden...fraternize?

In Wynne's romance lecture, she doesn't mention anything about that except with Zevran, where she mentions something about him and the Warden being together every night. But she dislikes Zevran, so I wonder if she would mention that just to make her case about him being a lecherous a-hole, in her opinion. So how often do you guys think Ali and the Warden spend the night?

I suspect it would depend on the Warden and how often she pursues it. :-P

I think that depends entirely on individual roleplay, but since one of the dialogue options is 'let's go to sleep', I think it's possible to construe that they sleep together at night, so like most couples, they probably 'fraternize' whenever they aren't too tired (or in their case, beat up ;)

OMG I just read both of your stories and they are wonderful.  I really enjoyed the learning about Alistair before we meet up with him.  Both are really wonderful

"Oh, not tonight, honey. I have an open wound and a concussion. Will you hand me a Injury Kit?"

I didn't even consider the option to sleep with him being "Let's go to sleep." I assumed that was the Warden talking about doing it without saying it outloud. To avoid offending Ali's delicate sensibilities:P

I'm pretty sure Alistair wouldn't be the least bit put off by just about anything the PC might suggest. ;) And if that were the case, she'd just keep inviting him to her tent as was possible before. I think it changed from the tent invitation to sleeping to show increased intimacy.

Okay, quick question. Has anyone done Alistair's personal quest after Landsmeet, and given Anora the throne? Do Goldanna's lines change in that scenario the way they do if Alistair is king when he meets her?
