Ok...Romance with Kaiden after that has been slim to none. Any way I am so stuck on getting the blue alien chick rescued. Do you have a link for some pc instructions to unlock her cell? Would be much appreciated.
When's the next romance moment with Kaiden. I so suck at these stupid puzzles. Would much rather battle and make love so to speak.
After she asks you to help her you go down the stairs and take out the geth. Then you activate the mining lasar. I'm not sure about the sequence...some people have said it was randomized and even though I've played the game over and over I couldn't tell you if it was or not. Use the mouse to click on one of the four positions. When it lights green it's the right one. Then go inward to the next tier. If you get red you have to start over but it still uses the same sequence so you can work it down to the center by trial and error. After you get it, the lasar should shoot a hole in the floor. Go through and use the elevator to get to Liara. A cut scene should follow. You might save your game before you go through the hole. A battle with some geth and a Krogan follows the cut scene and depending on your level it can be a little hard.
If it does turn out to be too hard there is a glitch you can use if you saved on top of or just before you go through the hole to get to Liara. You recieve a certain amount of xp points when you go through the hole(over the tiles)...if you recieve the points and then save the game and reload it will give you the points again. Save again and reload. Continue doing that and eventually you'll get enough to level up.
Talk to Kaidan after every major quest in the main quest. Talk to him when your back on the Normandy after rescuing Liara. You might talk to Liara first...I don't think you get him asking you about the rumors about Liara yet but I can't be sure. You'll get a lot of info about his backstory and you'll find out why he's shy around women. The big payoffs don't really come until you're about to go into the final stretch of the main quest.
You can also do some personal quests for Wrex, Garrus, and Tali but you have to talk to them a lot to get the request. Tali's will come up automatically during a side quest. You also might want to talk to Joker after every part of the main quests...his comment's are funny as well as Wrex's if you put him in your squad.
If you're playing a renegade character you might want to turn Kaidan into an alien hater. He's a lot less disagreeable to any of the more evil decisions you might make. I only did it one time. I preferred Kaidan the diplomat. Doing it is not obvious so if you want to keep him the way he is just keep being sweet to him.
WARNING I thought I needed to put this in here. I don't know if this changed over the course of Mass Effect or not...hopefully it has...but I have heard that you can only install the game on a computer three times and then you can't use it again. I got the game late and have only used one install(it's still on my computer) so I don't know if it's true.
Also for those of you new to ME save your game saves if you plan on buying ME2 (Jan 26,2010)...the choices you make in the first game carry over into the second.

Now that is interesting...if Alistair has the possiblity of producing an heir like Connor(mage) then it's possible that his son wouldn't be able to inherit the throne...payback for getting dumped:devil:It also explains a little why Alistair according to the codex has such an interest in magic. As for the sock(I never got that comment but I heard about it)I simply thought it was the dog again...didn't he do somthing with Morrigan's underwear too.

Also, Loghain and Queen Rowan fall in love in the first book. So why did Loghain kill his love's only son (King Cailan)?
I could easily see Loghain hating the son of the man who married the woman he was in love with. He would be a constant reminder of what Loghain had lost when Rowan married Maric.

I started playing this game because my nephew (who's only 12, I was quite supprised he was even playing such a game.. ¬_¬) showed me his ending. He was a male human noble who romanced with Leliana. He picked the ending of him sacrifising himself to kill the Archdemon.. and the emotion shown on Lelianas face, combined with the insinuation of her commiting suicide to be with her love, was heart breaking. And I really wanted to play after that.
Anyway, so, I made a female human noble rogue/archer. I didn't really have any focus on romancing anyone, but then Alistair was actually making me giggle in real life so..
I hardened him, I persuaded him to be King and myself Queen, but I knew what ending I wanted. I wanted to sacrifice myself, and I followed through with that intention..
I was then shown at my funeral, he basically said,
'She was a brave woman. I thought we were going to be together forever..(cringe, but the only sweet thing he said.). Oh well, I'll build a statue of her and move on. Toodles, have fun in the after life!'
I was quite disappointed by that.. >_>

There are not a lot of puzzles in the game and I can't remember how many the main quest might have. I believe that Noveria has a puzzle quest in it that is pretty hard but you can bypass it if you have 100 omni gel. I always just used the omni gel because I didn't want to take the time to solve it.so make sure when you go there you have enough omni-gel.There is a quest about stolen funds you get in Flux that has a puzzle to it that it timed....you might want to avoid that one if you don't like puzzles. It's not parmount to the main quest anyway.
If you haven't done all the quest in the citadel you can get some xp there. You can even get a little the first time you talk to people.

I was reading in the guide that a random enounter side quest comes up and whoever pulls the axe from the stump is Fereldan's next ruler. Hard to get that random encounter to come up but I got it. I wonder if this unlocks a different ending? I won't know until a different play through because game crashed at that point. Ugh! Ticked me off.

I remember the one in Therum and the one in Noveria. I don't recall one on Feros or Virmire...both of those are a bit faster paced or at least I thought so. I've got all of my saves except one. When I heard the spoiler about scars and being evil I decided to go back and do a male character...I don't like my females having scars.
And I agree with you...some of the endings to DAO are definately a turn off. I have several saves where I progressed the romance but didn't finish it because I knew it was headed in depression territory.

Alistair...
You khow I feel about you
I won't let you give your life when I can do something about it
Special note: make sure you pick one of two options to get that last kiss.
Choose..."but this is crazy" and you get him running towards you saying something like "this is the best thing I could do" (quick kiss) then go slay dragon.
Or choose...."I'll remember you"
This is by far the most ramantic and tragic of all endings. Even though I would personally say, "But this crazy" - this happens to be one of the longest and sweetest kissing scenes between pc and Alistair.
Then off too the prologue where you honor the grey wardens and Alistair gets a statue. What's even sadder you talk to everyone and they won't lef you come with them. Except Zevran, if you're still in the plus with him. I have not romanced Lelianna as a female. Therefore, I do not know if she will let you come or if she will stay with you.
The only other way it can be more tragic is if you get dumped by Alistair and then he sacrifises his life to save his love for you because he really doesn't want to be king and he doesn't want a queen.

Glad I replayed it again (just to listen to him) and I chose more investigation about a girl he onced love (ok sorta jealous) and he says she was pretty, smart and not stuck up and he says "just like you." Then he asks if you are this personal with everyone and you say, "What do you think?" Then he says he got to process all this but is looking forward to next conversation (Ok...will admit...I'm hooked for Kaiden, but Alistair will always be my first true pc love).
Well...off to finish some more quests...so I can talk to kaiden more. Boy does he make you work for it.
Trust me, you don't have to be jealous of Rayna in the end. You'll get a little more of what happened with all that later. The first time I went through I didn't even get the Rayna part...didn't explore the left dialogue tree. Don't know what you asked when he talked about his friends at jump zero...but the part about teenagers getting physical gets some revelaing dialogue from him(one of the main reasons I consider him a better catch than Alistair).
As long as he continues to say "I'd like that." when you say "we'll talk later" you've got him. If he ever goes back to saying Commander instead you've lost him. The only way I know that it can be messed up is if you don't admit to Liara that Kaidan's special to you or if you choose her in the jealousy scene.
So you released the queen...I loved the scene where it talked through the Asari...one of the games creepier moments.
As for me on being hooked...I've started writing ME fanfiction again...What can I say? Long live Shenko.
ETA: I quick little note you might not know about. If you catch the owner of Flux(he's a Volus)dancing on the dance floor and you are romancing Kaidan you can get him to dance with you. When you're dancing(I think you click on the volus to start) you also click on Kaidan. The guys including male Shepard don't dance as well as the girls but it's just a fun little thing you can do.

My other character was a noble so she would have easily ended up with Alistair. I am not very fond of persuading guys to stay with me and I really hate if they get me in such kind of situation. If you love me I dont have to tell you we should stay together.
I didnt sacrifice anyone yet since I actually like the Morrigan sex sequence. He is so easy to persuade to go to bed with her, just as he is easy talked into threesome in Pearl. I dont find him very bright or deep, but I have soft heart for puppies so I just cant kill him after all heh.

Still plugging along. I did love the possession scene. Great plot, graphics and action. I make sure I go talk to all the traveling npcs after a quest. I got the dialogue with Ashley talking to her sister in which she says that Kaiden is cute. For which Ashley (the fighter chick) says hes already sweet on someone. (That someone being me). I'll try the dane scene when I go back to Flux. I figured out some of the puzzles, but still haven't rescued the blue alien chick yet (sorry, first runthru, don't know the names of npcs yet). Have been doing side quests to level up. The monkeys were really cute. However I accidentally ran one over and received a -4 to my paragon points. ouch.MICHELLE7 wrote...
