Aspyr is now selling NWN2 in the Mac App Store for less than $20. The version is fully patched to a final version of the 1.23 patch and removes the requirement of having a game CD.  Because the expansions were never released for the Mac this does not include the expansions. However if you have the expansions and Mysteries of Westgate already you can copy their files from a Windows installation to the Mac version in order to play them as well natively. Instructions are posted at my blog (link in signature below) and in the technical forum.

One important note about the Mac App Store version is that the locations of the Data folders (both the master and user) have been moved, so installation of custom content is a little different. In the new version the Data folder is packaged into the application (Neverwinter Nights 2.app/Contents/Data) and any other Data folder you have is ignored. There is no longer a folder in Documents and instead that is in ~/Library/Application Support/Neverwinter Nights 2, which is also where the nwncdkey.ini file is located.

Regards

I had NWN2 Mac installed on two machines from two purchased CDs. In order to eliminate the need to use the CDs I purchased NWN2 from the Mac App Store on one of the machines. Afterward when I tried to download the app a second time to the second machine it looked as if the App Store was going to change me a second time. This makes sense to me if I was purchasing it to run on two machines without already having two (actually three now) Mac licenses. I didn't want to purchase a fourth license. So I exited the App Store, went to the first machine, zipped the Neverwinter Nights 2.app application and the ~/Library/Application Support/Neverwinter Nights 2 folder, sent them over to the second machine, and unzipped them there. I then used TextEdit to update the nwncdkey.ini file in ~/Library/Application Support/Neverwinter Nights 2 folder with the keys from the nwncdkey.ini file from the second machine's ~/Documents/Aspyr/Neverwinter Nights 2.

When I then launched Neverwinter Nights 2 on the second Mac a dialog popped up that said that I was attempting to use a copy that had been purchased from the App Store on a different machine and I had to enter my Apple ID to continue. It then let me play. I don't think it made me purchase it a second time. Hopefully not. So this was somewhat time consuming, but seems to have been successful and I can now safely retire the CD's to their boxes in the closet.

Would anyone know if a Mac NWN2 "download version" I buy from anywhere could play in french, for my kids?
All I can find, Aspyr, Apple store, etc... mention only about english.
(I want to play it the Mac way only, just for the records, simple, no reboot)

You could get a translated dialog.tlk for the french version, that controls translations and would let you play with the english version but see french ( there are some versions of that made for kaedrins content if i remember right ).
