He sure sounds lost and confused. Definitely much more impact than an e-mail.

Maybe that's the point, if we heard what he was saying it would be easier to forgive, and I always got the feeling that Shepard is supposed to stay off balance throughout the game. Or at least that's how I always rationalised the damn text emails.

That being said, I was so happy to actually hear it read.

Sorry if this has been previously posted but didn't see it anywhere.  Raphael Sbarge (voice of Kaidan Alenko) has recorded a Thanksgiving present for femsheps.

This recording will only be available until noon ET on Sunday, Nov. 27.

I love it^^
(And I'm male)

Ashley can burn on Virmire forever.

What's that have to do with anything?

Cause most of the male ME-Players I have met so far entitle Kaidan in negative ways.

Really? Why?

"Whiny," "not ' manly' enough," etcetera.

The same reason other handsome lead males in BioWare (and non-BioWare) games are often disliked by male players. You can surely figure it out why. Not to mention, there's the 'save the hot chick' problem Kaidan has on Virmire.

That "whiny" epithet is really sorely abused. To the extent that I'm not sure some using it even know what it means anymore.

I agree.
If someone critizices *whining* when he talks about Alister, I can at least see what's bothering him, but Kaidan never ever whined.
He mentioned once in a dialogue that he sometimes gets headaches from his implants, but thats about it.
Rest of the time, he is always formal and correct.

That was really cool of him to do. He pronounced the names of the planets wrong though lol. Also, this isn't ME3 dialogue like some people seem to think, it's the letter from ME2.

Personally, as a straight male, I save Kaidan more than Ashley. But what's this "lead male" silliness? There's nothing that makes Kaidan more of a "lead" than the other male characters. It's not like he's central to the plot, or gets more dialogue or anything.

I think it's fair to argue he is more of a lead--in ME1, anyway.

Series-wise, the only character who could nearly be a viable deuteraganist Is Liara.

As a possible LI in ME1, I'd think of him as a lead character

I love how Raphael read out Kaidan's letter for his fans. It always is nice to see the VAs doing little things like that.

*Would really love it if Keythe Farley read out Thane's letter in the LotSB files*

*feels terrible* I missed it! They've already taken it down!

Does anyone know where I can find / hear this amazing letter?

At first I though this recording was for male Shep and when he mentioned night before Ilos, I was like " Oh ****".

It took us like 2 months of begging him for him to do it ;) and then he just surprised us with it out of nowhere, so if you want something from the voice actor of Thane, he has to be
1. Nice to his fans and dedicate A LOT of time to his fans
2. he needs to be (nicely) asked to read it
3. there needs to be an incredible amount of fangirl squees to help him along

That was an incredibly nice thing for Raphael Sbarge to do. How can we thank him if we're not on Twitter?
