And what is up with the Aus PS3 release date? The **** EA?
As much as I like blaming EA for everything it won't work this time...

Sony has different divisions/companies for different regions.
Sony North America (SCEA) and Sony Europe (SCEE) have different requirements (sometimes contradictingly so), processes and timelines for how long it takes things to get approved, and manufactured.

Multiplatform titles tend to have problems on the PS3. A lot of big name titles felt broken on their PS3 counterparts.
QFT Multiplatform titles do tend to have problems on the PS3. You all need to put your fanboy conclusions aside because just because Bioware says it's alright doesn't mean it's so.
There sporadic fluctuation of the Ps3 release date also doesn't install confidence.

The PS3 version is identical to 360. Same textures, same visual effects, same pop-in distance for LOD. Framerate might actually be different between the two platforms under certain circumstances, given how they're entirely different hardware. I played through both console versions more than once - framerate is consistent throughout and won't be a problem at all (unless you can somehow tell when the game is running at 24 vs 30 FPS, and you find 24 frames a second unplayable. If that's the case I would expect you to have issues with many games, not just Dragon Age).
The game delaying for the PS3 in various regions has to do with certification/publishing differences in those regions, and absolutely nothing to do with the development of the PS3 version.
I'd suggest you wait until you see for yourself, or until more comparison reviews come out, before you draw final conclusions.

Well that's just it any reviews for the Ps3 version hasn't been all that positive and considering this is BioWares fist Ps3 game it's more than possible they could Blow it.

sorry.... but this is just kind of pointless speculation. Either wait for a proper review to make a decision, or just take a risk. There's no benefit from nail biting!

Thats what bioware has told us. However, the xbox 360 uses 1 cpu, the ps3 uses 6 (or something). Game code has to be optimized for use on the ps3 as the 6 cpu 'core' is much different than the single cpu. Going from xbox to ps3 is harder than going from pc to mac
Actually the Xbox360 CPU is derived from the Cell CPU used in the PS3but it has 3 full cores without any specialized cores. On the other hand the Cell(PS3s CPU) has 1 Core and 7 specialized FPUs(8 actually, but 1 is disabled for better yields). So they're quite different to each other and it's rather hard to make a direct comparison between the 2. In any case you're right that they need different optimizations to perform optimally.

haha your rant brought me back to 2004
anyways folks Bioware said the versions for the consoles are virtually identical, they have nothing but fan drive anger to gain if they lie about it (and boy would the social forum crash from the sheer weight of those hate-threads).
and besides, it is common knowledge that the PS3 is hard and costly to develop for, so much that some developers just do not want to touch it or worse just speak openly about how ridiculous it is. It does not make your console worse per se, it's just a fact.

First off, PS3 version is Nov 17th, unless they changed it yesterday. And multi plats always favour 360. Also, Bio have been Xbox exlusive for years. So LOL.
First off, you're wrong. There isn't a second thing. So LOL.

The PS3 is based on older technology (geforce 7800 architecture) that runs really fast. The 360 ATI Xenos GPU is based on newer technology. The 360 GPU does lighting and anti-aliasing better than the PS3. The PS3 RSX core does textures better than the 360.
These days 90% of cross console games (ps3+360+pc) are developed on the XBOX 360 and the developers don't take the time to truly optomize the graphics on the PS3 therefore it generally looks worse. XBOX360 is made to play its games in 720p and some games like halo 3 are only 640p native resolution. PS3 exclusives are made to play in 1080P native.
In general at SD or 720p the XBOX360 games will look better. However PS3 exclusives played at 1080p will look the best out of any console games. Since DA:O was developed on the computer and ported to both consoles they will both look alright, however since it was not specifically developed for ps3 specs from the start the newer technology of the 360's ATI Xenos gpu will outshine that of the PS3's NVIDIA RSX.
