 I'm looking to create a balanced mage. I want to be able to handle any situation that can be thrown at me. I would also like to know which of the 3 specializations I should dive into. I appreciate any advice you guys can give me

Personally, I like maxing out Spirit Healer and Elemental, with a hefty dose of primal - massive survivability, and damage. Can take a fair bit of damage with the vitality boost, and do an impressive amount of damage.

I would go Forcemage, if you want a 2nd spec you should go to Bloodmage, else spent the spec point in Spirit Healer to get the +mana but you shouldn't invest any points in the spec unless you hate Anders and don't want that he's in the party.

I heard Forcemage/Bloodmage is an amazing spec to go into. Could someone create a build for me that would benefit from Forcemage/Bloodmage?

You should check out Arelex's elemental force bloodmage guide. social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/305/index/7126577 

It's an awesome build overall, but personally I would advise against taking the bloodmage spec. And not for some weird RP-ing reason, but because it got nerfed pretty bad in the last patch.

I had way more fun with a similar mage build to Arelex's bloodmage, but instead of taking the bloodmage spec, I invested in Creation for Heroic Aura and Haste. I also took the spirit healer spec for the extra mana.

After that, you can either opt for Primal or Spirit tree, wichever suits you better.

I had fun with my spirit healer/force mage.

The upgraded spirit healer talents made me wish Anders had access to them, and the crowd control spells from force mage were definitely useful and fun to use; especially pull of the abyss.
