Suck it up haters and deal with it!
I did, unless you want the bitter resentment of unexpected and forced friendship when playing me3.
Alright, I can suck it up, I have in the last 2 games, but what if Liara dies in ME3... do we just tell Liara fans to "Suck it up, pansies, nobody cares". No, I think that's unfair, I think we should have a choice of killing off whoever we want in the game and saving whoever we want in the game. I'm just asking for a little equality here, I don't go telling others "You're going to marry/have babies/become besties with the VS because I favor them. Hey, they're important to the storyline!" That just sounds ignorant. I know Liara is imporant and without her Shepard would be dead, but if there wasn't Anderson the reapers would have already killed everyone , if it wasn't for Joker Shepard would have never got to Illos or off Virmire, if it wasn't for Wrex/Gurrus Shepard would have NEVER found Tali and Saren would still be free. The list goes on, Liara isn't the only important one, and if I'm a hater for saying I don't want Liara to mindrape me in ME3 then I'm a hater. But it'd just be nice to have the choice of being close to Liara or not.

Finally! We have confirmation that the element of choice is still present even in the little things!
Now we can stop this discussion and everyone can leave satisfied.

I agree you should have the ability to kill of Liara in Me3. And yes you can.....but I certainly believe you wont like it.
*SPOILER**
Unless you shepard likes having a rebar shoved up his back. Cause that is how you can kill Liara.
You don't need to treat Liara as a friend in Me3. But apparently you have to be nice to her even as a subordinate.
*Spoiler*
I me3 you can be professional with Liara but you still have to be nice to her. Thats all!
She isn't mindsexing, flirtning or sucking up to you anymore. Espacially if you didn't do LOTSB
I agree we should really have had the choice to kill of Liara but there is no point in whining now.

As players we all have our favorite (and least favorite) squadmates, but that doesn't necessarily mean that should translate to the game as well. A lot of players don't like Jacob, for example. They find him boring or hate his romance dialogue with FemShep. But that doesn't change the fact that he helps Shepard escape from the Lazarus Project base in ME2, and it doesn't change that he goes to hell and back for Shepard, risking his life several times for Shepard and for the mission. There is no in character reason for Shepard to hate Jacob, even if the player does.
Likewise, there is no in character reason for Shepard to hate Liara. Besides going to hell and back for Shepard in Mass Effect 1 (even when it pits her against her own mother), without Liara Shepard stays dead and the Reapers triumph. There is no in character reason for Shepard to dislike someone who has had his back 100% of the way, no matter the cost or personal risks involved.
In fact the only character I can think of where Shepard would have an in character reason to not like or trust them, is Zaeed. He's the only character that disobeys Shepard's orders and seems completely self-interested.
