EDIT: thanks to Terror_K, we have info via Twiiter
Nyoka:
@CaseyDHudson when you said "full armor" for Ashley, you meant "except for the boobs, of course!", right?

Casey Hudson:
@NzesiNyoka
Those are all clothing concepts. Ashley has full armor and helmet
similar to Shepard's, which I don't think have been shown yet.

So hopefully, these are all just casual outfits.

EDIT2:

Jessica Merizan wrote...

Just FYI those images are not of
Ashley's armor. I believe that is concept art for her casual outfit. We
haven't released shots of her armor yet (hope we will soon, I'd like to
make it to cosplay for launch!)

Hope that clears things up :)

There seems to be a bit of discussion on this topic, so I thought I'd set up a poll.

Here is Ash in ME1/ME2:

and here's the art for her normal and combat outfits in ME3:

I support Bioware and its design choice for her in 3 and Ash fans need to just deal with it

Well yes...that's nice...but what do YOU think. I'm not asking if you have faith in Bioware or not.

I dislike your poll for it's lack of "facepalm + ∞" option.

i'm pretty sure this is just concept art. not the final design.

but its okay. the middle one is the best. they just need to work on the collar/neck line situation. but in general it makes her look professional, battle-ready, and pleasant.

I'd settle for facepalm, but not because of Ashley's armor. More like because of people who think that the horse is not beaten to death yet, and that their poll and their thread is in some magical way, more important than thousands of polls and threads made on the topic.

Slap yourself Obvious, because I can't.

I'ts ok, but I miss the red, leathery look of the armor, that I used to put her in, as that is Ashley for me.
I hope, we are getting more options than in the second game again.

The officers uniform is good for non-combat situations however, she needs a full suit of armor like the far right picture maybe even more heavily armored.

The #2 and #3 outfits in the concept art are the best, though if used Bioware should eliminate the cleavage and cover up her chest. I have no problems with the armor looking sexy, but it should also be somewhat practical.

As for those who find the concept art bad, I think perhaps you are letting nostalgia cloud your judgement. Or have you forgotten that Ashley, an Alliance Marine, is wearing pink and white armor the first time we meet her in Mass Effect 1? I think her lack of uniformity with other Alliance Marines and the very untactical pink and white color scheme were far more facepalm worthy than any of the concept drawings for ME3.

I don't have a problem with her boots so long as they don't have high heels, like Samara or Miranda's boots in ME2. They should have a more flat sole like combat boots.

Her combat suit for 3 is good. I hope that makes it into the game. Don't want her hair to be down for combat.

Well, to be fair, my poll and thread IS more important :P

No, I know there's a thread more or less on this, but I did a search for a poll and
it came up with no results. *shrug* if there's already been a poll on this,
then I apologise. Discussion in threads is good, but I think a poll is better
as it lets you look at general opinion in a very compact manner.

As for my personal opinion I actually don't mind her armour, with the exception
of the ludicrous 'boob window' feature.

She's gonna get popped right in the bewb window.

You can weigh whether or not the mid-combat bewbie perv-peeks were worth it while Ash's lying in a puddle of her own lungs.

Sure looks like it is. I think now that Miranda and Samara are gone, they need somebody to fill that role. Thankfully there's no way they can do this to my favourite character (no boob windows for exosuits).

I was pretty excited about the combat armors until I realized that was a boob window and not a Spectre logo.

Then I facepalmed.

I like the second and third outfits for casual wear aboard the Normandy, but she should have actual armor and her hair should be up in a bun or something during combat.

...I'm also really hoping that that's not a boob window on outfits two and three.

Have we all forgotten so quickly that windows are structural weaknesses?
