Mass Effect is not Final Fantasy. Bad analogy. Armor is made to protect soldiers in battle in this universe.

...You missed that whole Miranda thing, didn't you?

The damage done with Miranda was patched up with AAP2. Still waiting on Jack and Samara though....

Not entirely. She still had a silly breathing helmet when you took her to places she should have a proper helmet. It was another case of BioWare "fixing" the problem while missing the point entirely. Having a suit that's properly sealed (or at least can be) is even more important than having one that's properly armoured.

Seeing that pic of Ashely makes me want to wear my ME1 armor all over again.

Like it.

As I suspected, most people like it or just go with the flow, with a few haters and trolls. Pretty much the same with every discussion on this board.

I keep seeing this statement more and more... and I agree with it. Even with the boob window, it looks more dignified and professional than her other version. I think this should be brought to the attention of the devs via whatever medium. I'd like to see a change to that.

Replace the gap with a Spectre logo and you have a perfectly acceptable uniform for Ash.

You can even leave the hair down.

Just FYI those images are not of Ashley's armor. I believe that is concept art for her casual outfit. We haven't released shots of her armor yet (hope we will soon, I'd like to make it to cosplay for launch!)

Hope that clears things up :)

Good to have some confirmation, although I think the casual outfit mostly looks fine anyway.

Indeed.

Sadly, I like the concepts better than the actual result!

Black uniform (with Specte logo) for Ash in ME3!

Thanks Jessica, I'll add the info to the OP. :-)

Any idea about whether the 'boob window' will still be there in-game, if those outfits make it in?

Agreed... honestly though, I'd even prefer it over her current one with the boob window.

I thought that concept art looked cool enough anyway.  Since Ashley isn't going to be a tank like Vega, it makes sense that she should wear more flexible armor for mobility.  I like the SPECTRE sash on it too.  That being said, it is nice to hear that we will at least have the option to give Ashley her classic combat armor look.  The Phoenix armor with the dark gold visor halfway down is an iconic image from ME1 and it would certainly be my first choice for Ashley's armor.

Thanks for the confirmation Jessica.  Although you have to know that around these parts people rarely settle down even after the thing they were originally rabbling about has been taken off the table.Image IPB

I'm one of the people who just don't care. Sure, I definitely don't like the new space-barbie Ashley, but it's an unimportant detail for me, as long as they kept her personality as it was before.
I always thought Miranda looked hilarious, but liked her character all the same.

That "boob window" doesn't really bother me, but yes, if BW gets rid of it and replace it by the SPECTRE logo I'll be fine with that. Ashley doesn't need to show her décolleté to prove she's a woman or sexy.

By the way, I'm sure we just saw her "off duty" or "diplomatic duty" attire but not her armor. And it doesn't look much like a catsuit or "barbie outfit" to me. The concept art in the right looks perfect to me and fits well to Ashley, at least much better than her current outfit which looks like a long jacket, white panties and thigh high boots. Her current outfit works if BW makes those panties dark blue so they're not catching views anymore.

I wish people would stop calling whatever that is panties lol! I don't know what kind of undies you folks are wearing, but I don't own a pair of panties that go halfway down the thigh and don't think I've ever seen any outside the old lady section of the lingerie dept.

i think people are finding it hard to take ashley in this new appearance seriously cuz it shows her physical characteristic rather that her actual character of who she really is

Of the three, #3 looks the best. However, #3 looks almost identical to Miranda's DLC outfit from ME2, which means it doesn't have a helmet for toxic environments or vacuum meaning the face mask for air. Never mind the mucosal tissue around the eyes burning from anything, or becoming freeze dried due to total decompression. Let alone the boob window.

So facepalm to all three. I'd like a dialogue option to ask Ash about the functionality of the boob window. And for the first one, tell her to stop dressing like a "working girl" aboard my ship.

Those are all noncombat outfits.

Or so we're told.  After ME2, anything is possible, really.

I love Ash's last look. I don't care if they're combat armor or not. Sometimes I prefer a characters over the reality of the situation. Just like Miranda, I really didn't give a crap if she was wearing armor or not. Yes, people don't fight in a cat suit (unless you're a super hero). But I loved her black cerberus outfit. Super slick and shiny. It was really sleek looking.

I'm excited to see the different looks for the rest of the squadmates.
