Assassin's Creed: Revelations
Pros: Good character development, the missions were more diverse, interesting new gameplay features such as bomb-crafting and the hookblade, the first-person platforming sequences add difficulty whiles still being fun, a new setting that isn't European, the music is great, your Assassins feel more like real people.
Cons: The AI is still ****, the bugs are annoying, the game still leaves a lot of questions open despite sub-title "Revelations".
Batman: Arkahm City
Pros: The atmosphere is great, the voice-acting is good, the combat is excellent, the cinematics are great, the boss fights are fun and engaging,
Cons: The combat sometimes feels too easy, there are no repercussions to not using stealth except in some cases, the Catwoman missions aren't as interesting as the Batman storyline, there are too many Riddler missions.
Uncharted 3
Pros: Both Sully and Drake recieve character development, the multiplayer is fun, the cinematics are extrordinary, the voice-acting is great.
Cons: Some of the characters were downplayed.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim
Pros: Has one of the best game soundtracks in recent memory, the addition of puzzles makes dungeon crawling more fun and diverse, the dungeons themselves are more diverse, the characters are more interesting as opposed to the characters in Oblivion, there's a lot more going on in the continent of Tamriel this time around, the lore is fascinating, the combat is great, the dragon animations are well-done.
Cons: You'll hear many of the same voices over and over again, there are lots of bugs in the game, the dragon fights become less fun after a while, the main story-line isn't as well-done as the secondary quest story-lines.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Pros: Great atmosphere, a decent amount of difficulty, the hacking mini-game is fun, the takedowns are awesome, the main story as well as the backstory is good, your choices have consequences.
Cons: The AI is sometimes dumb, the character models look weird.

+...You'll hear many of the same voices over and over again
+...there are lots of bugs in the game
Some things never change, I suppose.the main story-line isn't as well-done as the secondary quest story-lines

5. Batman: Arkham CIty
4. Assassin's Creed: Revelations
3. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
2. TES V: Skyrim
1. Portal 2- GOTY material, I think, and probably in my top five games of all time.
Of course, I thought they were all pretty great. List is subject to change after experiencing Skyward Sword.

It was one of the more major games of the year, but a lot of the sequel's concept are a bit of a turn off. The gameplay is unquestionably an improvement.Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who thought Portal 2 was that good!
U ma....nevermind.Clunky animations for Dark Souls, but not Skyrim OP?
Although I have my issues with (Dark Souls') lack of storyline, I still think the gameplay is better than any ARPG on the market today.
I think that comes with the nature of the franchise - it improved over the Demon's Souls story, but it's always been a highly gameplay-driven game.
My two are Dark Souls and New Vegas DLC, btw.

I also want to play SR3, but haven't had the chance yet. I'll probably grab it next week. Uncharted 3 would probably be up there if I still had my PS3.

Which also happen to be the only new games I've played all year (I think). Oh, Gears of War 3 was quite fun too, but I didn't finish it. I'm sure Saint's Row the Third will be on that list once I get around to playing it (still to obsessed with Skyrim).

Seriously, SR3 is such a great game. I think it does what a sandbox game should, and that is provide you with open-form gameplay with plenty of distraction.
