It took me quite some time to stumble across this.  All other placeables with walkmeshes that I know of come with their walkmesh attached, but for some reason the Sunken ruins control device walkmesh is separate.  To use it, just copy the location numbers from the control device placeable to the walkmesh.  Remember to rescale the walkmesh if you have rescaled the placeable.
