It might be a nod to Vasquez from Aliens, seeing as Ash and Vasquez are both tough marines who like poetry. Although it's probably just for more diversity in the game, more culture. I approve of it anyway. I didn't need a dev to confirm it, I knew she wasn't caucasian by the fact her skin tone was slightly darker, and the way she pronounced certain things sounded pretty Portuguese.

We don't have that in german version of ME - but her eyes / eyebrows look quite distinctive to me ... that's why I always thought of Ashley as "mixed" with a strong hint of hispanic heritage.

I think Rodriguez has done only one movie where she didn't die in the end, thats probably what he meant by it.

What I hate is that you have to be FemShep to get that dialogue. If you're male, you have to end the conversation early, or risk being ninjamanced.

I didn't know that, I thought you had the oppurtunity to turn her down? Shame if not.
