All I did was go to the party storage chest before continueing other Quests. Now it seems (if the wiki is still correct) that the Quest is permanently broken since either a) I didn't get to the old leader straight away or because I took the Quest from somewhere other than Denerim.... Is such a basic thing as this sort of Quest mechanic really still broken after all this time?

Bummer. I was hoping that there may be some in game way to reset it, even if it was just travelling away from and returning to Denerim, but couldn't find any.
