What University do you/did you attend? (If so, what is/was your major?)

And I attended a little Danish university (at that time, anyway) called Aalborg University. (the city is pronounced Olbor...)
Later, I trained to be a teacher which I still am.

I really should have dropped the Sociology and gone straight History, but nevermind.

I'm from Denmark and when I took my degree several hundred moons ago, things were a little different from what they are now. I have a Master's Degree in Danish and Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies.

A fellow dane, fancy that.
I haven't attended to a university yet, but I'm aspiring to become an english and chemistry teacher.

I'm hoping that isn't the case, with me at least. I'm sure being a video game designer will be a rewarding experience for me.Moondoggie wrote...
Those studying should enjoy it while they can it only gets worse after you graduate XD
Well i was talking mainly about real life. Having a mortgage and paying bills and tax etc that you don't worry about at University.
And are you studying games design or something like that? Most people who study that end up in retail lol. You should remember that a degree in something is not an all access pass to what you want to do in life. But good luck to you if you want something bad enough go for it. Just remember to network and get those important contacts that can get your foot in the door.

Another game-design student? Cool! Me too!
Where do you live and where do you study to become a game designer?
Also, do you realize that it's REALLY HARD to get a job as a game designer? My advice is to gain sufficient knowledge about the C++ and C# scripting language and make sure you have a rich portfolio with lots of concepts and designs to show. That's what I'm doing to make sure I'll get a job as a game designer as soon as I'm finished with my education.

Yeah my instructors have been telling me how important that is. They do seem to know a lot of people in the industry so I'm sure they could help in that regard.Moondoggie wrote...

I live in the U.S. I'm studying at Full Sail University. The college is only located in Florida but I live in California so I take online courses. My instructors have been telling me that if I can, make sure to have a grasp of programming. I'm having a hard time finding any programs (preferably free) that I can practice C++ and C#Luc0s wrote...

Try Microsoft Visual. As far as I know, it's free. It supports the XNA framework with the C# and C++ language. However, it's very hard.
If you want an easier way to learn a bit of C#, try Unity 3D free version. As the name says, it's free. Unity has it's own framework that makes life a little easier if you're not really good at programming. However, Unity only supports Javascript and C#, not C++.
You can get Unity 3D here: http://unity3d.com/

I'm from the Netherlands and college works a little different here, though we still have Bachelor and Master degrees like every other country in the world.
Anyway, I'm currently doing an university education in Game Design & Development. I plan to get my Bachelor of Arts within 3 years and my Master of Arts the year after.
I'm studying at Utrecht School of Arts by the way, or more commonly known by it's Dutch name: Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht.
It's an awesome university and I've learned a lot of proffesional things about games and video-game design.
I study Marketing at the Tilburg University, one of the best economic universities in the world, and also the university with the longest running professor who just made all his stuff up (although he was a social physcology professor...) currently I'm in my third year so I hope to start my bachelor in a few months

W00t The Netherlands represent!
Tilburg is not so far away from where I live. Maybe, if there are more Dutchies here, we could all hang out in- or near Tilburg one day.
