I used to live my life in the John Belushi "I'll be dead by 30" sort of way back in my Wild Youth.
I started Gaming when I was 13, I was watching a group of older guys (like 16 & 17) play D&D in a Comic Shop and one of them was nice enough to ask me if I'd like to learn how to play...that's why I'm such a big believer in encouraging folks younger than myself to Game.

First video game was "Combat" on the Atari 2600, ~1981 I think.
First game of D+D was about a year later.
Little did I know then, that there would eventually be a way to combine the two...

Where do you live??????????? In the UK Mass Effect is a 12 and Mass Effect 2 is a 15![]()
That's not true. I live in The Netherlands but I often import my games from the UK. Mass Effect 1 and 2 are both 18+ in both The UK and The Netherlands.
So, don't lie to me.
Edit: Nevermind.
Not true ^^ I bought Mass Effect 1 in London and it was 15+ (Yes, I had to show my ID DX)
The BBFC, which is the British rating system for movies and games, rated Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 both 18+.
So I honestly would like to know where you got that 15+ Mass Effect, because my Mass Effect also comes from England (imported it because it's cheaper) and it says 18+ on the cover.

I could do the same. My Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 both come from the UK and both say 18+ on the label, both rated by the BBFC (e.g. British Board of Film Censors).
Edit: Oh I see that only my ME1 is rated by the BBFC. My ME2 is rated by PEGI.

Magnum, no need to be rude or anything, but that "gangsta" talk of yours is getting a little old. You might want to give regular proper English a shot?

I was 5-6 years old when I first played some duck sports game and Hugo on one of my mother's laptops. Also some Spiderman game... Games kept me occupied.
Was 6 or 7 when I got Playstation. First game was some Mickey Mouse game. I called my three best friend's over and my idol's (who was my best friend) big sister over to play and watch. We had a lot of fun.
Next game I remember is Tomba!. It was a lot of fun... I remember callign Jaakko that "I'm trying to find the Storm Pig, wanna come over?" "Nah, I'm playing Crash Bandicoot Racing with the guys, you won't find it anyways."
And I found it. I showed them guys. They missed that epic ending to Tomba (or at least it was epic for a 7- year old boy).

EDIT: And as for my age, I'm 16. I know that I can't hold any discussions, and thus I won't even try. Started playing games when I was 3. Best memories I have of my father are the ones when we beat Rayman and Rayman 2.

OK, so before anyone accuses me of trolling, etc. let me say that my intention here is not what you might think. My question is, how old are you? The reason I ask is that I am probably one of the oldest gamers in here and I wonder if there are any other folks in my age range. I'm a 51 year old single father who has been gaming off and on for years. I started out on the pinball machines at an early age and kept going, playing the various platforms along the way until now, very happy spending a few hours a day on my 360 and sometimes on my PC.
I think I am perhaps an anomaly. Maybe not. Am I alone here?....just asking.
My dad is 42, and is quite the gamer himself (though he'd never admit it). He's been gaming since the days of Centipede and Pac-Man, and now plays Xbox 360 almost as devotedly as I do.
Anyway, I'm 22 - lifelong gamer so far, and I doubt that will change for a very long time (if ever).

Pfft, the kid thinks so highly of himself.
Kid, your a man/adult only after you jump off a building and kill 4 men with a 9mm pistol and make love to your woman. AND you have to do those both when you are still in air and falling off that building.

Don't know what was the first game I played. It was in the arcade down the street from my Grandmother's.
I grew up in that arcade, playin Snow Bros., Puzzle Bobble, 3 Wonders, Metal Slug.
And of course Street Fighter II.
The King of Fighters was THE game at that arcade, and it remains my favorite video game series.
Had an SNES. My favorite games on it were Megaman X, Super Castlevania IV, and ActRaiser.

Encouraging young people is a good thing as long as they stay off of the lawn.
