I tried switching from hardware to software, but the problem still persists. I also tries changing the maxchannels to 64 (it was 64 to begin with) and totalavailablechannels to 62 (from 64) in the bioengine.ini file. Still no effect.
I thought maybe it was a directx issue since I'm running this on windows 7 and directx11 (and a couple of years ago I had no issues on my old desktop that ran xp. Sound was perfect). So I downloaded directx 9.0c october 2006 (got the version of directx 9.0c off the origin website) and installed it. Still no effect.
I am running it in compatibility mode in window xp sp 3 as an administrator.
I tried contacting EA technical support and they told me that this was an in-game issue and that they only handle 'game-related issues'. Would someone explain the difference? They also said that the game developers regularly monitor issues on this forum. That remains to be seen.
Here are my specifications:
MacBook Pro
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
2.4GHz quad-core
Intel Core i7
4GB 1333MHz750GB 5400-rpm1
Intel HD Graphics 3000
AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 1GB GDDR5
Audio Device - Cirrus Logic CS4206A (AB 29)
I'm not very tech savvy so please let me know if I missed anything out. Help me resolve this persistent and irritating problem. I want to play the mass effect series from the beginning to get the full experience in anticipation of mass effect 3!
